I see the club has announced Beau as new senior coach. He coached colts at Perth and Peel than 2 years at Subi. He has a level 3 coaching qualification but other than that, I’m not sure what else he’ll bring to the table. Obviously the club sees something in him but must admit, I would have thought an experienced exAFL assistant or similar would have got the gig…best of luck to him and hope it goes well. I’m a bit surprised they didn’t advertise or call for expressions as they’ll no doubt be a few around a bit annoyed they didn’t even get an opportunity to put their hand up for such a plum gig. He must have been in the frame for quite some time so I guess the club knows what it’s doing.
Incredible. After his coaching performance where the the spirit of the rules was questioned in a GF and then rises to be a senior coach of the the competitions most powerful Club.!
I’m not really concerned about what happened in the GF astro but I gotta admit I’m a bit baffled by the appointment as well. Schofield coached Subi’s colts then had a year as an assistant at Claremont in 2012 before getting the senior gig back at Subi so elevating the colts coach has been done before …Scott Watters likewise in 2006…but at least they had a pretty decent playing career to fall back on experience wise…Wardman from what I can see has sfa. He must have some pretty damning photos of someone in power at the club is all I can say.
Could be a sign the club is concerned about its running costs and a realization it can’t spend what it is used to spending now Subiaco Oval is facing the wrecking ball? Maybe they are going to let him bring on the colts boys and leave the cheque book in the bottom draw for a change?
You could be right DD…but I’m a bit surprised they didn’t even test the market to see who’s interested and how much they want. I’m pretty sure the club could afford a part-time WAFL/AFL credentialed coach.
No surprises there. The clubs bank balance is in decline and their morals are in the gutter. The guy was responsible for the clear breach of the playing/coaching guidelines which resulted in his team winning the colts premiership.
I honestly think everyone imagines Subi is better run than it is.
Could also mean Subi may look to give a lot of their colts boys a crack next year and less recruiting…though as much as there is talk of Clarke getting another crack, can’t really see who would want him…esp with Hickey off to WCE now…think Deluca could sadly be like a Schloithe and Bolton and over looked…Carlton and GCS had those mature age picks and went to the SANFL and VFL for picks…though still the draft I guess…
think Subi have taken their foot off the accelerator here picking an inexperienced fella as BC says…but good luck to the fella.

That is the baffling bit, not even advertising and testing the market and whatever interest was out there. Seems like it was a forgone conclusion from a long way back, just like Schofield going to an AFL club was.
Recent sustained success could actually work in his favour though, with the club surely not having continued lofty expectations and thinking of another 3 from 3 in 2019.
I go back to how they handled the Deluca yu issue. Amateur hour.
Where and at what level did this bloke play football?
He’ll be ok BC. Subi has been so good for so long, Coco the clown would succeed at your club. I think it will probably be a long while before we see your club in decline. All three premierships - short term future is ok.

Look who’s crawled out from under rock. I’m not surprised you’ve been m.i.a for the last month given FARTs deplorable season. I can hardly wait until Freo give you clowns the flick in 3 years and you go back to winning one or two games a season and being a disgrace to the comp once again.
Is his background in umpiring maybe?
And pretty sure he barracks for the Demons.

I’m led to believe he had some connection with the umpires association for a while.
Pretty sure he’s umpired league wafl.
Not M.I.A. BC, enjoying a holiday courtesy of your club. $2.50 at the start of the season and then some icing on the cake with the -36.5 gift GF line has made it an enjoyable break. Shame they just fell short of my 96 point winning margin prediction.
How’s your super funded pension going? Upgrading the Honda? Hopefully you got amongst it too as I think you’ll come back to the pack a bit in 2019.
Enjoy your winnings RD…in the next year or so when Freo see that WCE are happy with their own reserves team you’ll be dropped by them quicker than a hot spud. …which of course means you’ll be back to your underperforming selves in no time. I’m happy to say I’m still working and haven’t yet had to go into super which is more I can probably say for you on a tax payers funded pension or job search allowance which is a joke into itself which I’m contributing to.

No need to worry yourself there BC as I’ve never been on any tax funded pensions or unemployment benefits and never will be.
I’m surprised you missed my post re wanting to break the alignment with Fremantle when EP announced theirs.
