B Grade R6

Why hello my fellow B grade bandits. Welcome back to another addition of Frank’s World, with your host Frank The Tank. Super excited to see my long time pal Champ Kinds back in the threads and hope he has a bit to say for the games this weekend. Its a short season now, so stop making excuses for results as we don’t have long left. I know you are all curious to know how Frank went wetting the line up north, but I must not tell. Can always ask him in person though…

Mt lawley v Balla- well I see the loser getting relegated/finishing last (still have no idea about relegation). Mt Lawley have been much improved without the choccies but do hear that Balla will have some East Perth inclusions (just unfortunate for the hawks)this weekend. I would have backed the hawks to get one here but will be tough now. Squeaky bum time for Balla though, no excuses ya lil sooks. Balla 11 points

Basso V Shitties- Basso got handed a B grade lesson last week and will be looking to bounce back at home against the Warriors. Shitties going about the job nicely so far but have stern test ahead. Look, Frank’s not sure on this one. It is MOTR though so lets go Shifords by 5 points (Clean game please Basso)

Wanneroo v West Coast- Wanneroo just doing enough last week but come up against the slick Coasters. All the games at home for the Roos have been close but havent been able to get one in front of their beloved feral faithful. West Coast play a good brand now but expect them to get the Dub in another close ish one. Wet Toast by 19 points

Wembley v Swan Ath- Wembley just ticking some boxed nicely as we speak against a Swan Ath team proving the doubters wrong. This will be a tough test for the Ath and I’m expecting Slippery Stan to run a muck. For Wembley though, they really don’t want one of these “easy” wins to slip by them. The wombles by 6 goals.

Only a couple of rounds left crabs so get your thoughts in for Frank to analyse would ya. I don’t bite I swear, but will be judging everything you say. Bye Bye Losers

Quality write up Frank. I look forward to Friday’s
Keep it up big guy.

Balla to get the choccies tomorrow and the win they should have, fingers crossed injuries don’t cost them again. Poor old Hawks to keep struggling along, a good club who get close for a few years but yet to taste success above C grade.

Whitfords to get the win in a tight contest. Fingers crossed no one gets hurt. Roos don’t want any excuse for next week in front of a well lubricated premiership reunion and past players day crowd

Loving the young homegrown Roos this year but youth and pride won’t be enough to stop the Coasters big bodies.

The Magpies to keep on winning, strong club and will keep pushing for an A grade return.

Play well, keep you eyes and the footy and head down.

Thanks for all the write-ups for B Grade so far Frank!

Defining round of footy this week in the B Grade competition with 4 teams on 12 points. Wembley look to be clearly front-runners and favourites at this point of the season to go back into A grade.

Mt Lawley really struggling this year and seem to have conceded hope needing to win their last 2 games. Ballajura haven’t been flash but by the sounds will have some handy inclusions this week so I’ll go the Royals by 3 goals here for the relegation title.

Basso vs Whitfords will be a good tussle for MOTR. Bassendean got a reality check last week against a strong West Coast side and will be looking to come out with a win before going into their bye. Whitfords seem to be sitting around the middle of the table but interesting to see which way this one goes. Whitfords by 2 goals.

Wanneroo seem to be just scraping through and lucky to be sitting where they are. Few close games this year but don’t seem to be finding their “Roo” brand. West Coast with a thumping last week over Basso will continue their good form into this week. West Coast by 6 goals.

Wembley clearly enjoying the season, got their bye out the way early and haven’t looked back since with some big wins and momentum going forward. They come up against a very young Swan Ath side that have probably impressed more people than expected. They have the lowest against score so interesting to see if they can keep the Magpies goal kickers quiet. I think this will be closer than the ladder suggests. Wembley by 3 goals.

Good luck to all this week and enjoy the last dry Perth day for some time. Play fair and celebrate.

Well well well. Another good weekend of football and a few results that have split the Men from the Boys. Another week without rain was exciting but can it hold off for another week, Franks not sure. If someone could give me a lovely write up from they saw on the weekend, it be much appreciated. Can’t wait for me old pal Champ Kinds to be in touch as well as hear another excuse from the Sugarkane hehe. Results ok ok:

The Hawks get a big one and move off bottom of the ladder. This excites me, not sure why, but it does. Balla had inclusions, a sunny day and everything in their favour to move away from relegation but you BLEWWWWWWWW ITTTTT. Sugarkane, did the inclusions hurt you on the weekend? Keen to have a read on y’all report. This had been building for the Hawks and good on them. Bullcreek and Balla, squeaky bum time much?

Basso turns it back around and sneaks a close one. Looks like a good game this one. Unholytugboat, please report back to me please. Any Basso blokes (who we haven’t heard from since round 1 and we all know why) would love to hear from you as well. Shitfords slide back into the pack with this one and face another big test Saturday.

Wet Toast give the Roos a nice little hiding. Well i guess when you concede the first 6 goals, its hard to come back and that seems to be the case with this game. Relatively even but the Toasters keep on rolling on. Just hitting some real nice form and as for Wanneroo, well maybe this was coming. Ohh the reality check they got. Big home game coming next week

The Wombles sneak away with another close win over the Ath. Look just my opinion, I don’t think the Wombles are as good as the record shows. Stan didn’t play so i guess this ain’t a bad result, but feel the greater powers of the other teams will get to them. Ath have been competitive in every game except 1 and actually put a score on the board this week. Just not a team you want to play heading into the final weeks for how scrappy the games are.

Please report to Frank before COB Wednesday with any game reports please. I’m a busy man and cant be bothered waiting for anything bu quality. TIA amigos

Didn’t see that game, I have heard Bassendeans home ground can be quite dangerous and couldn’t muster the courage to venture.
Bassendean flew out of the blocks and kicked the first 7 goals.
Whitfords clawed it back and nearly pinched the game in the last. A good test this week to see where we at, will be interesting if depth starts to play a part in the season with a couple clubs reporting injuries.

Safety first at all times Unholytugboat, especially in this day and age, smart strategy from you. Yeah from what I’ve seen maybe a bit of breeze down at Jubilee as both teams looked to capitalise on it.

This injury thing makes me laugh. Its an 8 game season, i get having injuries probably impacts more as each game is very important, but i feel teams need to stop making excuses. Think the only team not suffering is probably the Coasters, firing on all cylinders.

Still nothing out of the other games though, wish the people gave Frank what he was after!!!

Solid hit out in the game between Wembley and Swan Ath. This year Wembley have been slow starters but in this occasion got the first few goals of the game to take the early lead. However kicking into a stiff breeze Swan Ath pegged back the deficit to take the lead at the first break.

Kicking with the breeze the lads from up the road got the next 3 or 4 goals, with the big fella at full forward getting good delivery from the mids and proving to be a real handful. It wasn’t until half way through the second quarter that wembley started to get some consistent ball and use it a bit better. That said a gandy 3 goal lead to Swan Ath at the half.

Wembley’s turn with Breeze resulted in more ball up forward and the rewards duly received grabbing a 1 goal lead at 3/4 time. It was Wembley’s time to defend hard against a breeze that definitely favoured Swan Ath. But it looked like Wembley had the superior fitness to finish stronger. A solid second half, but you would want to be careful giving 3 or 4 goal leads against upcoming games against West Coast and Whitfords. It’s hard enough against clubs outside the 4.

Good effort by Swan Ath, position on the ladder doesn’t mean they are not a solid side. Looked young and will hopefully only get better for a decent tilt in 2021.

Good chat gents- and Frank well done on getting something happening in B grade.
I didn’t get my tips in this week as I was away until Saturday- did venture out to catch second half of Basso v Whitfords game though.

Couldn’t believe basso got away with the win- or were able to get 6 goals up. From what I saw the ball/game played in whitfords hands- basso didn’t look like they wanted to score in the last half apart from a 10min spell in the third.

Whitfords look slow though, Kuenen plying forward is a big move- he got his hands on everything.
Razor pretty quiet
#21 not bad for Whitfords at stoppages

Hats off to the swans for holding on though- going ok at this level after a couple grade rise in last few years- be stoked to come up and not get relegated like many others do.

Whitfords will be there back end of the year- and their senior heads can get the job done on their day.

Still 5 teams to make up the remaining 3 spots in top 4 with Wembley all but sealing their finals campaign with a win over Ath.

G’day Everyone. I have been watching several matches in B Grade this year. Last week I watched Bassendean v Whitfords which was a great game (reflected in the score). Whitfords have a very skilful midfield and perhaps the best Ruckman in the Grade (in the matches I have seen) in Number 20. He’s approx 6 7,mobile, left footer and can swing into the forward line and take a solid grab. Whitfords rely heavily on him to spark them so the key is to nulify him and you are in with a big chance. Bassendean are a balanced Team and will trouble most teams with their skill and determination. On balance Whitfords were more experienced and skilful than Bassendean, however, Bassendean played with greater determination and hung in there to win after kicking 6 goals to nothing in the first quarter…

Anyone know how long the Basso player in the reserves got for knocking out the whitfords player?

Not sure where you get your info from FTT, no extra inclusions this week as you stated. Balla dominating a lot of the play early but to lawleys credit they were effective when going inside 50 and kicked the winner with 30seconds to go, cheers

Interesting results this week and good to see the fight for relegation has levelled itself right out. Should have a good idea after this week how it’s going to look so really exciting.

I also went down to watch Wembley and Swan Ath and was really impressed with both sides. Umpiring was a bit whack but a good visual given the windy conditions. I thought Swan Ath showed a bit and definitely gave it to Wembley early but let the Magpies back in the game when they had the momentum and wind in the second quarter. Difference at the end of the day I thought was Wembley looked a bit more polished and experienced with better skills but Swan Ath didn’t look out of place against the best. Would’ve been interesting to see the game with Wright in the side. Swan Ath 2-3 with their 3 losses totalling 28 points, shortened season might catch them out.

Any news if the bloke suspended from Bassendean is making a return to qualify for finals or if the club stood up and is keeping him out?

Well done boys, almost COB on a Wednesday and we have some talking points. Love you all.

Lando, thoroughly appreciate what you have done by keeping this thread alive this week. As for Sugarkane, are you calling Frank a liar? Because Frank has many a source through the PFL and knows his shit. Be careful Champion.

Unholytugboat, you can’t just be dropping bombs like that, we need some hard evidence to back that call up. Please source this and get back to me, its important.

It also seems, the people were only interested in 2 games this week? Maybe some wifi lacking out in Wanneroo? West Coast tooooo above Ozfooty?

Love ya shit weapons

“Any news if the bloke suspended from Bassendean is making a return to qualify for finals or if the club stood up and is keeping him out?”
Basso have a bye this week then The dirty dog is back for the last 2 games v Bullcreek & Swan Ath. Hopefully he will get some just deserts!

Well well well Frank you have the B Grade chat up and about.
Great work my friend.
Looking forward to the weekend preview and the discussion continuing.

Will Wembley choke come finals time and leave the comp tight or are they too good?
Who will fill the 3/4/5 spot and who will be fighting for relegation, now the Hawks are back?

1 Up and 1 Down this Year. Also only Top 4 play finals. Any calls on the spoon and the Top 4?

As previously discussed, I really feel relegation should be pied in this competition this season. All teams have showed that they are B grade quality teams and if things fell a little differently, may have had some results go in favour of them. PFL board, take note please.

I believe Wet Toast are the benchmark then any team from 2-6 are competitive on there day. One up for them probably works well as long as they don’t blow it like they did last season, could you imagine, twice in 2 seasons, goshhhhhh id have nightmares.

Yeah have heard old mate is due his return soon. I’d imagine Basso would assume he has done his time, would love a comment from them on this and maybe something that happened in the 2s from the weekend gone. Sounds like a club enforced Ozfooty ban from what I’ve seen!!!

Balla and Mt Lawley game was a tight tussle and the lead changed a few times in the last quarter for a great finish. Ballajura’s lost a few from last years squad including those with wafl squad experience. Makes a big difference at this level. Mt Lawley clearly have also lost a heap from last year too and feeling the effect of not adding to their list with wafl level experience like other clubs have. Credit to them on getting a win here though being a proud club would have meant a bit.

West coast stuffed it last year so should be favourites this year along with Wembley. The rest very even and agree with FTT that no relegation should occur in B grade due to already having 9 teams and no blow out margins.

Unconfirmed player chatter saying the incident was deemed just as bad as the Mt Lawley incident and the player has copped 4 weeks by the PFL.

Serious cultural problems at Basso if true. Will try and confirm tmrw night.

Evening gents- it has been brought to our attention that we have been copping a bit of flack on these threads.

We are not going to come on here and defend our players in regards to the two incidents mentioned in a public forum. Both incidents were taken care of by the PFL and the BAFC and we fully accept the decisions handed out.

What we will say is that like all incidents in footy there is often contexts involved, within the game, within the players personal life and more importantly how a person or club deals with incidents in a private environment.

We do not feel the need to answer to any of you who hide behind an alias on a public forum but if you would like to give our league coach a call, explain who you are and then find out our processes and how he and the club dealt with each issue then feel free to do so on 0401 994 523.

Do we condone what happened absolutely not.
Were they 1 off incidences? Absolutely.
Do they reflect us as a club? Absolutely not but that is irrelevant to the blokes or girls on here who like to have there one off comments to bring a club down- as always is the case on a public forum.

It is pretty interesting to read through the threads and notice people can’t give reviews of games but can clearly detail incidents within them as if they were there.

Since our league coach has been at the helm we have moved up from C2 and up until this year have not been to the tribunal.

Over this 4 years prior to 2020 no senior player has been suspended in the league side, with the round 2 suspension the first one given.

In the reserves we have had one player given a 2 week suspension in that 5 years before Saturday.

No player in our thirds has been suspended.

In the colts a few yellow cards but again only 1 suspension.

To say there is a culture problem at our club is a big kick in the teeth to all involved within the four walls of our club.

All football clubs have people involved who stuff up from time to time- unfortunately some clubs are crucified for this and others are not.

We will continue to put our best foot forward for our football club and support any player who walks through our doors- irrespective of their race, gender, home life, looks, socio economic status or decisions they make.

Will we throw people out that don’t conform to the norms? No
Will we try to educate players and give people chances? ABSOLUTELY.

That is the best thing about community football it is a place where every body should feel welcomed and can learn, we only hope that other clubs can offer that to their players too

We have enjoyed the challenge of the step up to B grade football and have learnt a lot from every week this year as well as shown that we are capable to match it with most clubs. We look forward to seeing what the next few weeks bring.

Thanks for your time
