B Grade. Humble Pie

Well Done Wanneroo. You proved me wrong against Whitfords today. As they say…Winners are Grinners…Lets see what unfolds…

Care to elaborate on that?
What should unfold?

Gday Champ Kinds, “lets see what unfolds” is in reference to the last 2 rounds. Whitfords and Bassendean control their own fates. Win both games and one of them very well for % purposes and then they play finals. Wanneroo are reliant on results going their way. 3 Clubs in a game of musical chairs fighting for 2 spots. Swan Athletic will be kicking themselves and are now out of the finals equation. Again, Well Done to Wanneroo. Winners are Grinners!

Got ya.

Going to be a very interesting run home.
Sadly I think the Roos will come up short and it will be between Wembley and West Coast in the big dance.

Come up short for finals you mean? Or the big dance after making the finals?

Come up short in the big dance.

Should hold on now based on the teams played v games to come.

What are your thoughts FB?

Gday Mate, Well to be perfectly honest I’m still wiping the egg off my face after Wanneroo gave Whitfords the FUBAR yesterday. The Roos win has certainly changed the dynamics of the composition of the Top 4 and in particular who finishes 3 and 4. Things to consider;

Next round Wembley v West Coast. If Wembley win that game they will secure Top Spot and their last game against Whitfords is a dead rubber. If West Coast win Whitfords will have to play at 100% to beat Wembley.
First things first and its the game against an improving and proud Hawks away that Whitfords have to win and then hope that Wembley win. Mount Lawley’s last game for the year and they need to win to possibly avoid the spoon as their % is currently 10% better than Creek who have won a game more though. Wanneroo, Whitfords and Bassendean are very lucky that Swan Athetic lost on the weekend as it made their task easier. All things being equal Im still of the opinion that Bassendean and Whitfords will win this week and well to lift their %. If Wembley wins its a bonus to Whitfords and Bassendean play Swan Athletic in a dead rubber the final round. Lots of twist and turns and its a Great Grade this year in what can only be described as interesting times.

We saw on the weekend the different reasons of motivation to win. The Creek fighting to avoid relegation and beating Swan Athletic away who were fighting for finals and Wanneroo with their last throw of the dice (at that stage) win albeit at home against a good Team in Whitfords coming off a loss needing a win to secure finals. Great heart by both the Creek and the Roos against the odds. The Creek would like to win one more game to be secured B Grade status and they did beat Basso at Jubilee last year so would fancy their chances but I think Basso will do enough to knock them off. The question this week is the Hawks’s hunger and pride enough to beat Whitfords to have a chance to avoid the spoon? Time will tell…

But lets keep things simple in these complex times. If Basso and Whitfords win their last 2 games they will play finals with Basso hosting Whitfords. Wanneroo have kept their chances alive and have the door ajar, however, are still relying on other Teams to win certain games to get there. I would prefer to be in Basso and Whitfords shoes and know simply win and play finals with a chance to win the Holy Grail.

Sorry I missed these posts Fullback.

Some great thoughts there.
Going to be a great run home.

Another week and some hives games.

This shortened season, while frustrating is providing some excitement at this time of the year. Normal seasons wouldn’t see this.

G’day Champ Kinds. Mate I totally agree with you. Tomorrow for many clubs, officials and players its FINALS. I wish all clubs, officials, supports and players good luck tomorrow for the finals. Well done and enjoy! Fullback

I meant SUPPORTERS… lol…no spell check!
