Aust A in NZ

Will definitely take the 20 min drive to the picturesque Bert Sutcliffe oval in the Uni town of Lincoln to watch some of Aust up n coming talent in action. Sadly its a miserable old day here at present, so play probably won’t happen till tea time…looks pretty good tomorrow and beyond though.

Welcome back Freezin. Missed your insightful comments during the Shield final, great result!
Looks like Australia A bossing this game with an excellent double from Renshaw with Spencer Johnson and Wes Agar 4 wickets each in the NZ innings.
A bit disappointing for Teague Wylie missing out twice while the other Aussie batsmen are filling their boots

Good to see you are back online Freeze.
Mike I am as parochial a West Aussie as anyone but Teague Wyllie was probably pretty lucky to be picked in an AUS A squad on his first class form since debuting last season.
I think he averages in the mid 20s with only 1 century & 1 50 from a dozen or more games now, so he has definitely been chosen on potential, not runs so far.
Also I have Renshaw at the top of the queue to replace Warner as our opener for the Ashes ahead of Bancroft who to me despite his great form this summer still has a few technical deficiencies that the likes of Anderson, Broad, Robinson, Archer et al will find him out in no time in English conditions.
Good to see Spencer Johnson take some wickets over there, he is my smokey for the Ashes, a big fast left armer, who could be the replacement for Starc long term.
Interesting to see Hardie didnt get a bowl in NZ’s first dig hopefully no injury concerns out of the Shield Final?

Cheers fellas, definitely enjoy our cricket chats. Popped down to Lincoln to see today’s play…first look at Spencer Johnson, bowled well, along with Bartlett and Agar jnr. Was looking forward to seeing Wyllie bat in the flesh for the first time…lasted 2 deliveries sadly, and reckon Jewell will replace him for match 2.

Renshaw backed up his 100 with a quick fire 70, whilst Ward and McSweeney backed up first dig 50’s with 2nd dig 50’s. McSweeney looks a talent. Very generous declaration by McSweeney, will try and pop down tomorrow for day 4, hopefully the fast boys can repeat their 1st inning feats.

Men: The slogan should be changed to ‘all one needs is a black WA cap’ from the old ‘blue cap’ saying. As people have said, pick on form.
