Anyone go to last nights game. Give us your thoughts. Any stand outs with the recruits
2025 - version 2.0
Schofield would have had Subi fired up on his return.
Can you read too much into a 3 Goal scratch match Loss, transferred to Subi’s Home?
Both teams were missing a helluva lot of their best players, but its the skill level I have been extremely concerned about going back to last years pre season games.
I would have thought the footys would have been out since November considering how poor our skills have been by hand and foot but it looked like on Friday was the first time we have seen a Burley!
Thanks for your review,mate.
Game style?
Think its the Sharks at Shark Park this weekend. Is that correct?
I believe so Mike, the fence or lack thereof shouldnt be an issue for a practice game.
Danger hard to get a gauge on game style with many out and the skill level well below par, at times they tried to move the ball quicker from the back half but poor turnovers brought it unstuck far too many times for my liking.
It looks as though we were without Collins,Pasini, Chalcraft, Odonahughe, Lynch, Provost, Petric, Kohlman and Cartwright.
Cartwright, Collins and Pasini coming off long term injury from last year and there has been chatter around Kohlman and Petric having significant injuries. Does anyone have updates?
There was no Harvey, E.Smith, Blakely, Erceg & others either.
Hopefully all are not injured already as its becoming a curse of late…
I’d only class Harvey as a potential League player, with natural development, from those you mentioned. Erceg will influence only if we play him as an extra in defense and that system is a recipe for disaster, one on one he’s a liability and was exposed in that scenario by the oppo in his most recent of League games.
Surely, we are moving on from Blakely for obvious reasons and Evan Smith would need to be a lot more competitive than what he showed last year despite being only a young ruck. He was clearly overtaken by Tom Smith, who also had a presence up fwd., unlike Blakely also.
Evan Smith was injured for most of last year.
If that was anywhere near your best team Swannies I’d say it’s going to be as long season.
You were all over Subi last year. The ability to run free wasn’t there this time.
Swans have been all over Subi, the past 5 games.
True, even in our last premiership year Swans towelled Subi up at Leederville.
