AFL Streaming Coverage

Thank you AFL for trying.
But you need to find a supplier that can supply decent streaming.
Camera can’t even follow the play.
The streaming is constantly interrupted.
As for the commentary, it’s a disgrace.
Good try but it socks.

It’s not perfect, but it’s a lot better than the one we had available last year!!! Thumbs up for me.

Personally speaking, have found it ok at this end. Although sometimes a bit clunky as the signal not the best at rabbit flats. Zoomed in on the EF - WP game for a while and found the telecast good. Looked at the Swan Districts game and found that coverage acceptable. Only have to live in hope they don’t stuff up the streaming!

I thought Demons Forever would have been happy with the P v S broadcast. The commentator was a one eyed Perth supporter barracking hard. I thought the broadcast was ok

Im not sure we should be complaining about the live streaming it craps over the Ch Stokes coverage which also costs us a motza!
We should save that cash and put it back into the WAFL and just go with the streaming of all games imho!

Hats off to all those commentators for their involvement…if folk want to whinge about it, stick your hand up and have crack yourself then…until this year there was minimal WAFL coverage at all..now that sucked big time…hopefully the more games these boys do in the commentary box…the better they get with that skill set…

Agree Freeze, it’s light years ahead of what we had in the past. yes it can be clunky at times but I’m sure the bugs will get ironed out. I watched the P v Su game and that commentator did the whole game by himself, so credit to him even if he was a little bit Perths way, but big deal.

It is a sign that the league is popular, too.

Being a country resident, I am thrilled with the coverage. I have no streaming issues. I like that there’s one commentator. No inane “special” comments and short periods of silence are great. I don’t need every little thing explained to me. I love that there is no commercialism. The producers of the stream do an outstanding job and deserve to be fully supported.

Hear hear! I have watched about 5 games so far involving different clubs and by and large the camera coverage and commentary has been good. Yes there are times where we only see grass but this streaming service has been a bonus for WAFL supporters who can’t get to games

Another positive for me is as others mentioned, one caller. Is there anything more boring than listening to Cameron Ling, Dermie or McClure??? Again, thumbs up for the coverage.

One commentator is shit imo, I would like to see the one commentator with a different guest comments man each game, comments man being a former WAFL legend, blokes like Neil Taylor, Stephen Michael etc or the like. Other than that I think its great

DG that all costs money, maybe the home team can arrange for a prominent former player to sit in for special comments. Tails, Shuff or Skidda if they are available, Wolffy for the ferals etc etc.

Highly unlikely I realise, why cannot the Wafl get organised for once and stream matches? Instead of relying on another company?!! As someone else previously noted, the current commercial Wafl tv coverage continues to be crappy and poor. Why continue with it? I have given the Wafl away on television. Haven’t had a decent footy telecast since the ABC days. That money could be diverted into the Wafl providing the streaming? Maybe have 2 commentators per match or 1 if required? As we’ve clearly seen in the news of recent times, there is no forward thinking in this country. Part of the reason the whole country is stuffed. However surely the Wafl can see the streaming is a step in the right direction (as long as they don’t stuff it up!!!)and should start to get things moving. Of course all this being wonderful stuff until the internet crashes.

Yeah better than nothing but can someone tell me how Fox and Kayo can cover domestic suburban netball leagues but not WAFL? Would be a hell of a lot easier than this streaming service. I suppose streaming is free for everyone.

Yes SS that would be good if the clubs could organise. I get ya about $, but its the least they could do given the fact that they can just rip the guts out of our clubs both pre season and mid season by poaching our best players without leaving virtually any time to find replacements

it’s about time we had coverage of all games given what we provide to AFL every season
