One would assume that most contracts (1st & 2nd year) are signed just after the national draft which would be mid November. Therefore those players have used up 4 1/2 months of the year equaling 37.5% of this years salary.. If the AFL wants to reduce this to 70% then one would expect this to be 70% of the remaining years salary. Those Exc’s who stay on should do the same..
