AFL 2021
So who do you go for when your teams play?
EFFC v Eagles - Sharks every time, without any doubts.

Barrack for NM, follow WC and Fremantle

And the winner of knobhead of the week is…tada…Chris Scott. Still, no contest, he wins it most weeks. You’d be a mate of his wouldn’t you STT?

I must admit, I was extremely surprised that Dangermouse got suspended. The AFL has a long history of letting thugs off because they’re Brownlow material. It’s taken what? at least 10 years to to ping the thug. Well deserved suspension.

I can’t stand him, great footballer but got tickets on himself off the field.

The new FIGJAM ?

If Dangerfield copped 3 weeks then this Reid fella should have been given 5 for his hit on Fyfe which was high, intentional, off the ball and there was no way Fyfe would have expected it where as Dangerfied laid a legitimate but late tackle on the ball carrier with unfortunate consequences.

Spot on BC, Fyffe is one tough mothersucker. Never saw it coming - I thought the days of getting away with picking a player off were gone. Obviously not.

Nic Nat’s ruck display on the weekend was nothing short of absolutely awesome. I smile when I think back to when the resident experts (here and on the old footy site), claimed he was over rated and said the Eagles should have taken Rich instead. Then there’s Ryan, he’s a freak. He may have a bit of razzamatazz, but he does a lot of bullocking work around the ground. Here’s hoping they stay fit, the Eagles would hurt big time without them this year. How many more aboriginal kids that could be like these two out there, but don’t get a chance?

Scary for opposition teams to think how good an already powerful Eagles forward line will be with Willie Rioli being available in the last round just before finals sharkie. Stay healthy and get Shuey right and it could be a WCE v WB or Sydney GF. Early days but those 3 are the early fav’s for mine.

The game v SK could be a danger game for Eagles. I wouldn’t have thought that the Saints are as bad as they are currently showing. They need a win REAL bad, so watch out West Coast.

There ya go…a desperate team beats a team in cruise control.

Panned out just like you said 58shark. I watched a bit of the first half before going to Lathlain and it looked like the Eagles were all over them like a rash. A friend told me that Liam Ryan missed a sitter when WCE were about 4 or 5 goals up, then the Saints went straight up the other end and scored a goal and the whole game turned from there.

Occasionally you don’t want to be right and this was one time I wanted to be wrong. I couldn’t watch the whole game, but what I saw didn’t fill me with confidence. I think the writing was on the wall pretty early. When was the last time Tim Kelly missed his target a couple of times in one quarter? Several players constantly missed targets and created pressure on themselves. Once the Saints applied their pressure, the Eagles couldn’t handle it. Is it a case of no Shuey, no Yeo, no Eagles?

Looks like the Eagles have taken a leaf out of Freo’s book…mounting injuries.

I wouldnt say you were “right” 58 or as mikeh said it “panned out just like you said,” , you simply said St Kilda “could” win and well it wasn’t exactly upset of the year the Eagles losing an away game.
And i would definitely say no Shuey no Yeo no Eagles, in fact i don’t think theres a side in the league that could sustain losing their best two mids for long periods.
And this weeks Eagles 22 contains 11 players 190cm or over, is that the tallest football side in history?

While they didn’t play 4 qtrs of good footy they were dominant enough for long enough to get over the Pies, We know Darling is a gun but the way Oscar Allen is playing at 22 and at his size is just mouth watering, the lad can do anything, rucks well, has a great pair of hands, kicks well at goal, can be a quality key defender, is fast and good on the ground, the complete package.
Injuries hurt the Pies on the night, but the outs that WC had were off the top shelf.

Another pretty good game from NN. Just adds to the argument that Karl Langdon’s assessment of him is just another screwball comment from a fairly poor footy critic. I used to wonder how he continually got a game in his day. I think Peter Wilson, when playing for Richmond, personified him beautifully.

Well done Collingwood in sending Bart Simpson out on a winning note. You owed him that. I look forward to listening to him in the media now.
