I noticed that to purchase ground admission tickets on-line for Subiaco and Claremont home games they charge a transaction fee. (Subi $1.58 and Clare 57c for concession) All other clubs don’t do this. Must be new this year as I can’t recall noticing it before.
It means you save just 42 cents if you purchase on-line instead of at the gate. Not much incentive. Of course it’s not going to stop me from going but more annoyed about the principle.
Frankly no surprise that these two clubs do this, they are the only ones who try to charge members coming in before half time of the colts, I have taken to carrying an excerpt of the policy document, they still argue!
And because not many complain, this sought of behavior will only become more prevalent
And as we move away from using cash, more and more “transaction” fees when using card payments will increase.
I questioned this fee with the staff at the gate at Joondalup in our first away game. Was told they have no say in it it’s now controlled by Intix. But if you pre purchase your ticket online you don’t pay any fees and get a discount. I won’t have to do that today at Green Grocer Park.
I was doing a pre purchase online and these 2 clubs charge the fee.
