Or to give him his dues,he got a Wicket pretty much straight up,when needed.
Almost did it twice,the Dougie Walter’s,”Bl**dy Beauty!1 for 0moment!
Good on ‘Im for that!![]()

Exactly. Get a wicket then told to go sit in the naughty corner.
It was the end of the innings! ![]()
Early on he got wickets. But don’t let that blind you.
Green just doesn’t have the temperament for Test cricket
got a huge problem with a consistent outside off stump line
imagine what Rabada , Jansen & co are going to do soon
and he isn’t a frontline bowler type who goes through line-ups
needs a good batting coach asap
36 tests and we are still here at this point ?
no it’s time for a tweak and a fresh look
Yet at the same number of tests as Steve Waugh, Green has the better test batting average of the two…I guess all the Geeen haters would of been Waugh haters back in the day as well…hung drawn and quartered before their time.
Out of interest wasn’t Webster picked on his last few seasons of shield cricket?..if using the same logic…how is Renshaw even talked about for a test recalll…ave of under 30 for the past 2 shield seasons…can the Renshaw fan club please explain the logic for his selection?..If it’s purely on his recent shield numbers…then how does Webster earn a recall then?..as TT says…ave under 10 with the bat…batting top 6 as well
I reckon your assessment of Green is about as accurate as your assessment of Craig White this year - he can’t coach and shouldn’t be coaching anything above U9s??
Let’s hope Green makes you look like as a big a fool as Whitey did when he won your beloved Doggies a flag. Very good effort for a rookie coach with no ability by your assessment…
Jack Edwards hasn’t been tearing the Shield apart with bat or ball this year. The only thing that qualifies him is he’s from NSW so guess he’s got an advantage there cause his numbers don’t support him getting a sniff at getting added to the Test squad.
Hmmm some interesting mass debating going on…
Ok so if we want to use the current Sheffield Shield season as our Test selection guide here are the batting & bowling averages for the leading all rounder for each state below (minimum 2 games)-
NSW Jack Edwards- Bat Avg 47.50, Bowl Avg 32.80
QLD Xavier Bartlett- Bat Avg 44.33, Bowl Avg 16.75
SA Liam Scott- Bat Avg 45.00, Bowl Avg 28.66
VIC Will Sutherland- Bat Avg 20.71, Bowl Avg 31.55
VIC Fergus O’Neill- Bat Avg 32.85, Bowl Avg 23.41
TAS Beau Webster- Bat Avg 9.50, Bowl Avg 19.66
WA Cameron Green- Bat Avg 32.50, Bowl Avg 21.50
WA Cooper Connolly- Bat Avg 39.20, Bowl Avg 29.66
If this years Test Cricket stats are more your Test selection guide here are the averages for 2025-
Beau Webster- Bat Avg 34.63 (4 x 50’s) Bowl Avg 23.25
Cameron Green- Bat Avg 21.43 (1 x 50) Bowl Avg 52.66
Edwards form is certainly worth giving him “a sniff” at a Baggy Green…
Whilst Webster’s SS bowling average for this season has seemingly “gone missing” (much like Cam Green’s form in Test Cricket in 2025) on here when discussing the Test all rounder selection!
Also another interesting stat is QLD Matt Renshaw current Bat Avg 70.83 for this SS season.
Maybe some should stick to watching that Temu Big Bash called the Super Smash me thinks!!! ![]()
Hopefully Greg Chappell’s article is published in today’s Age paper,as it’s Paywalled online.
Think it mentions something about mental toughness of today’s players, most likely in the discipline of Batting,………..
Looks like McDonald has put the Mozz on Uzzie.
After Sydney we dont play a test till August 2026.Away to RSA
Uzzie wants the David Warner arrangement to his international career.
Actually would love to see Bartlett, O’Neill and Richo get a go in Sydney…change things up completely, won’t happen though…would be good to see Kellaway get a crack as well, that definitely won’t happen…intetesting to see if Webster gets selected, and Smith uses him like he does with Green…bowl short, and only a few overs at most…wonder how effective Webster would be?
Saw an interesting downward spiral stat on Marnus…each year heading drastically south since his debut…just goes to show scoring 4-5 tons in the tesr lead up, means fark all…that’s why Renshaw’s ave of 70 odd should be taken with a grain of salt…look back over the previous 2 seasons of Shield cricket…Renshaw averaged under 30 both seasons, much like his test average of under 30…
I did an interview with Craig White for my Souths fremantle site.Very nice fella.Had an enjoyable chat.
Seems to me he knows what he is talking about.
Beas, how about we add some context to Jack Edwards Shield average:
NSW 7d/429 & 1/79 v QLD 8d/347 scored 45 on a road which saw 3 x 100s, 3 x 50s and 3 other reach 40s. Took 1/55, bowling Renshaw for 29.
VIC 382 & 9d/171 v NSW 128 & 125
Scored 6 & 13, Took 1/63 & 1/20
NSW 9d/391 & 174 v TAS 8d/623
Another road to bat on, He scored 39 & 38 and took 0/61. Match saw 3 x 100s and 6 x 50s.
NSW 7d/471 & 4d/143 v QLD 92 & 181
Hit a good 95 and took 1/16 & 1/28. the match had 1 x 100s and 6 x 50s. All by NSW in the first innings except Kontas who managed to back up his 116 with 53 in the 2nd innings.
Melbourne test pitch officially rated Unsatisfactory by the ICC match referee.
No real surprises there!!
Do you reckon Green being the second highest Aussie run scorer at the G on an unsatisfactory pitch shows he’s got talent and should hold his spot ![]()
Got 2 starts, before throwing his Wicket away, both times. But should be safe for Sydney.
Curator should have Mowed it just before the deadline, creating Faisalabad conditions, for those Poor,Poor Batsmen!

Or a few litres of petrol and a match?
TT think the weather was a lot cooler than forcast.
Grass should of been gone by day 2,lol.
Just shows how good Kim Hughes 100 was in 1981 v the Windies.
@gtrxuone good call about the weather. That is what the curator said in his defence.
By the way, does anyone else think the curator has a striking resemblance to
Chris Judd?![]()
