3rd Test in Adelaide

got a few problems with DRS in this match
I’m not entirely sure Smith was near that one
looked to be clear of the bat
where was benefit of the doubt for the batsman?

Agree Southy, but 2 very close reviews went their way today so swings and roundabouts.
Cant believe the Poms are sticking to their one trick pony ie Spazzball. This pitch was made for batsmen to settle in and carve out big scores. We all thought 370 odd was way below par which it was by 50 or 60, but the Poms continue their clueless attack at all costs T20 stuff, which has proven to be a disaster against a quality attack like ours, plus they somehow decided not to play a proper spinner on a pitch renowned for spin. Lyons will have a picnic in their 2nd dig on day 4 or 5.

Stirling effort by the Aussie attack in testing conditions…for a side that is regarded as old and decrepit, they do have heart and resilience…get two quick wickets tomorrow…bat for a day and a half… then let Eng chase 400 odd to keep their Ashes hopes alive…Carey is having a cracking match and series…for a fella heading towards his mid 30s, he certainly is in good form

We weren’t giving Archer more easy runs, with short rubbish again, were we?

someone in the England line-up had to stick around a bit today
I thought Brook might get a few at one stage
there’s going to be some decent spin in the next 2 days
see that clearly already
with those late runs it isn’t clean cut by any means

Older and wiser maybe @Freezin.
Been there done that before.
Have a plan and stick to it.
The Aussie bowlers pace hardly dropped , in all tests so far.Unlike the Poms. Some of theirs are bowling at around 10/15Ks short of their quickest.
And the Aussies ahve that hanky settled at both ends.
Lyon added that difference that the Poms don’t have either.

Some folk are so reluctant to praise this Aussie team at all…yeah the game aint over…but geez that effort in scorching heat, against apparently one of the most naturally talented attacking English batting line ups to descend on Aussie shores, v a Dad’s Army bowling attack, and still lead by 150+, is a great effort…but hey the Aussies need to do better…

Generally Satisfied with what they do,Freeze.

Just a few side issues that need cleaning up,like late today.

Considering how much stick Archer has copped from all qtrs including here he has well and truly answered the critics both with ball and bat. Well played Jofra. Gee he’s got a good eye with bat in hand.

With a bit more work in the nets with a batting coach he might creep into the all-rounder category.

No knock on Archer here.

But having got them on their knees,we seem to let them off the hook somehow, with Archer the beneficiary,……

Was really hoping England would put up a fight.
A combination of very good bowling. + fielding..And very poor shot selection.Has England staring down the barrel again.

That was one of the most disciplined bowling performances I have seen by an Australian attack, especially taking into account the extreme conditions Make no mistake the bowling has been the main point of difference in this series. I’m sure the English batsmen would love to face their own bowlers rather than Starc, Cummins and Co.
Stokes showed the rest of his team the tenacity and courage it takes to win ashes tests but the problem was that noone could stay with him long enough to make it a battle. Stokes reminds me more and more of the Black knight on Monty Python who challenges his opposition to keep fighting even though he has lost his limbs (tis but a scratch!)
I reckon it will be death or glory for Ben tomorrow, he will try and counter attack to bring the deficit down as much as he can. If they can reduce it to under 100, it will give them some hope especially given Australias skittish batting line up

tremendous fightback by these two here
wonder now if this is the catalyst England have been looking for
Australia need to get a wicket pretty quick or there’ll be no lead

Imagine how many more ashes tests the Aussies would have won in the last 10 years were it not for Ben stokes. This pommy side would be in a bad spot if he wasn’t playing

can tell you I had some moments of thinking we’d let England back in when Green did what he usually does
another really poor shot choice
but Travis Head showed what has been the difference between the two countries in this series
he’s just taken the game to a point where it’s far from England
ruthlessly

Not sure if you heard Rikki Ponting assessment of the footwork from Cam Green. pulled his batting apart and basically said he missed a half volley because he drags his bat foot backwards at the point of impact pulling his eyes out of the line of the ball.
Agree with you @Southerner Trav has been the difference, though was surprised to hear that when Stokes and Archer got their partnership to 100 today that gave the poms 2 x 100 run stands and we only have the one

Huge knock from Head…obviously the pitch is a belter to bat on…if you are prepared to be patient…which Head was, and sadly not so Green…plus Uzzie’s shot was just as poor…v Jacks…both lazy shots technically.
Be looking to get to the 2nd new ball…by adding another 80 odd…then if wickets in hand…go for the tonk…Eng bowlers will be well n truly shagged by then…get a lead of 480+…and encourage Bazball to get the English home…will be some tired bodies in that English dressing room…physically and mentally.

Yep.
Tomorrow we hopefully turn the Sc**ws and have them over a Barrel!

From what Head said in his press conference they won’t be giving England another bat till they are 450+ in the lead. Potential showers on Sunday may give England the chance of getting away with a draw which will still give them the mathematical possibility of a 2-2 result but how would they lift themselves, their captain is cooked and the confidence of the team is shot.

Reckon they’ll be just a few light showers,with a change of weather,Mike.

A bit like us in Summer really.
