20th May. WP host Claremont

Can’t help thinking a bit of a danger game for West Perth. Claremont slipping further with losing to the Demons, being a match the Tigers would have given themselves a chance. Team listings are going to be interesting to read later in the week. One would think West Perth of going in as favoured to win, but they wouldn’t want to become too confident. Claremont’s recent form slump can’t last much longer, otherwise they’ll be out of the top part of the league ladder. With the competition heating up in the second half of the season, they may find it difficult getting back in. Whereas West Perth have been steadily improving each week.

Sticking to Jye Bolton like Glue would help, but don’t let him get away with complaining for Free Kicks. As good as player that he is,it seems he’s just as good, whinging for Free Kicks, from what I heard yesterday.

It’s not about whinging for free kicks it’s about player by the rules, you think scragging a player without the ball falls wihin the rules then your still in the 1960’s o’l boy

Sounds like Jye complains at the slightest excuse,if I heard right.

Apparently this match being ‘broadcast’ on the Wafl application, Footy Radio.
Which is just bloody fantastic if one happens to have a new fandangled phone!
Tough titties for the rest us.
A bit of good old fashioned radio coverage would not go astray!

Every game is a danger game for WP, WA Guy, we are not flash by any stretch but we keep winning and they are honest wins at that. Yes CL are talent riddled and can come out and flog us no end with the Falcon influence they have at Tiger land but they seem to have some issues there that blokes like Harris will not tolerate, regarding Bradshaw and Co.

Don’t doubt it Leedy, but I got it from a Tiger man,who thought the Senior players were at the forefront of Bradshaw and Ledger being dropped.

Senior players running the show can work quite well. Many coaches have said that their successful sides ran themselves. You have to have the right senior players however which EF and Cl evidently don’t.

Just been reading the news report. Apparently the attendance is quoted at 849? Really, really hoping that is a typo error. Some one in the news room probably forgot to write a 0 on the end. Or possibly forgot to place another number before the eight?

Hopefully you are right WAG, sometimes the Wests figures can be a bit inaccurate but what they have reported is

Lathlain 1400
Fremantle 1299
Leederville 1100
Joondalup 849

for a grand total of 4,648 for the four games, maybe the official figures will be a bit higher but still we can’t go much lower can we and the WAFL is now at its lowest ebb since world war 2.

Bloody Awfull figures.

:frowning:     :woohoo: :pinch:

More people watching Scarborough v North Beach today than any of the Wafl games…

If that is the correct crowd number for the Arena, it will be one of the lowest seen at said venue I would imagine? Certainly not what West Perth would have been looking for. The previous 4 Home games of West Perth has seen above average crowds thus far for them. But today’s figure will drag it right back. :frowning:

Good game the boys played well, love beating the collage girls.
I would say the crowd would have been over a 1000 at least , the ground works there is making access to the ground a pain in the arse, but once it’s finished it will be fantastic, playing the collage girls has never been a great draw card in the past and today was no exception, I wasn’t expecting a big crowd anyway but it was definitely more than 849.

You’re telling us 1000 folk flooded to this game? How could you tell?

Free entry might have helped.Millington Reserve or Abbett Park?

Agreed Falcon, 849 my arse, would have been 1200-1300. Good win by WP, Bradshaw got caned by his team mates on a number of occasions for not giving off to someone in a better position, maybe thats the problem.

Easily 1000 at the Scarborough v North Beach derby at Chas Riley. Over the course of the day probably close to 1500-1800.

How do you tell, well probably the same way everyone is saying it was more than 850 at WP v C. An educated guess based on not being able to get a seat and the shoulder to shoulder standing room 8 deep on the top terrace. Maybe the 200 plus people on the far wing and people point post to point post on the clubhouse wing.

Fair few ex-WAFL players running around in the game and when they say it was a better crowd than most WAFL games no reason to question it. Not paying to get in is a positive to be able to watch a great game of footy between 2 serious footy teams.

Good luck to the Beach and Scarbs boys getting a crowd.Suppose it ain’t surprising given it’s a community Derby.

Both club areas zoned to Claremont interestingly,so I can understand there being little loyalty to a Club such as Claremont many miles away, even when they head North to Joondalup.

And it’s Free.Gee,Things must be grim if people find $15Entry too much.Or society always thinks with their hip pocket.

I wonder how they come up with these numbers? Is it from gate takings? If so it is not accurate because they are not counting members who don’t pay and that would be a fair chunk missing from the equation, when I get my membership stamped they never write anything down or count anything so WTF !

Best people to ask and trust are your current and previous Presidents.

Scott Ballem and Brett Raponi.
