2026 WAFL Tribunal

Might be handy if the Football Commission keeps us up to speed on WAFLTribunal/Match Review Panels this Season.

As good as it is John Townsend informs the WAFL World audience on Monday Nights, you’d hate to think there was any secrecy still, which you get the impression there is,when John has to dig it up.

And another thing,…..if an AFL Listed players clearly transgresses on the field in the WAFL,CLEARLY REPORT them, like everyone else,so we can all see the Process and not have it buried in a non reporting manner by the WA Football Media, particularly outside SPORT FM!

One thing that should stop is the BS “making contact with an Umpire”farce, where players don’t even know they were on report until they were told on Radio,by their Club or someone else, allowed them an early Guilty plea, reducing the penalty down to a Reprimand, where again they didn’t know.

Jonah Brooks was one such example as was his opponent that day.Guess who that was,………

So the players must have been wrestling in a melee,Umpires come in to try and split them up and come in to contact with the players, oblivious to their presence, whilst they blow off steam.

Lord knows when the Report Book came out, because it seemed like a raft of players were Reported on the same charge.

We all know Umpires should be respected and not to be touched, until maybe a handshake is acceptable after the Final Siren.

But for Heaven’s Sake WAFC,apply the Rule in a proper context’Heaven forbid players do a Phil Carman or a John Bourke, but that’s when you Report Players for Striking an Umpire!

Heard on Monday,we won’t know which player was the one hit or otherwise by the Reported player, which apart from Dumbing this process down in John Townsend’s eyes,is Absolute BULLSH*T and is strong indication, the Football Commission want to try and keep the whole process HUSHED!

Footy fans should counter that by loudly yelling “Reporddimm!”as footy fans do,gawd love ‘em,then react loudly according to the Umpire’s action,THROUGHOUT THE SEASON!

If the Umps are inclined to Report a Player,DO SO PUBLICLY so we Know, who is clearly up for an appointment Monday or Tuesday Night and in the process, who the poor blighter is,offended against.

If a Report is not in the offing, especially if it is CLEAR AS MUD there should be,then out come the Boos in the process. That’s not what we really want to hear, but if that’s what it takes to keep the Reporting/Tribunal/MRP Process in the Public Eye,so be it!

The message to the Football Commission would be CRYSTAL CLEAR!

Do NOT Under Any Circumstances, make an important part of WAFL Footy a Big Secret!

Reckon I’ve lost count already on this one -

Making contact with an Umpire.

What’s the minimum criteria for a Report here?

Incidental touch with a fingertip, when querying a decision?

2 Big Names this week.

Greg Clark 4 weeks down to 3 on early Guilty plea, after clashing with Peel’s Brandon Walker, who was concussed from the Incident.

Alec Waterman copped a 2 week Suspension, arising from a hot tempered game against the Sharks.

I thought it was a good hit :man_shrugging:

Only thing Cl lost last weekend v EF.

Seems you can’t give a hip & shoulder

Might have been a bit more to it,to end up in a concussed player.

Could have been a stray elbow,…..

I believe Subi are appealing the Severity of the Suspension, hoping to bring it down to 2 weeks.

Claremont may be doing the same with Alec Waterman.

He’s currently sitting on a 3 week Suspension, lowered to 2 with an early Guilty plea.

Did anyone see the vision of Leigh Kitchen hit from the weekend? Broke another players jaw with an elbow. 1 week suspension from the PFL is all he received.
The other player has reportedly had surgery and been in hospital longer than Kitchen suspension.

Just to answer your post,no I didn’t.

I’m not sure Kitchen did that in his WAFL career.

Who does he play for and who did he transgress against?

Just a wild guess,…Scarborough v Wesley/Curtin?

Yeah it’s bs mate

I heard Waterman ended up getting off…straight from his old man’s mouth

Incident was North Beach v Uni from RD 2
Kitchin isn’t on the team sheet for RD 3

100% you can … just can’t hit people in the head when you do it.

Well, there you go.Thanks for the news on that,DG.

I’ll let the dig at JL stand, given he said it was a whisper.

You are about to see the Kitchen hit all over social media. Been sent in to Dan does footy … he elbows him in the head on the way out of the contest and got 1 week.

Had to minimum 4 which is what a sling tackle gets with a concussion.

if you search google, Henry Alforque you can see it about the 5th on the list on instagram … Bit of banter around $1200 a week being paid and other comments.

1 week is a disgrace.

Finn Macrea(WCE) - 1 week for striking Jesse Turner(Sd),2 weeks after unsuccessful appeal.
