2026 - R9 v East Perth at Leederville Oval

Travel to Leederville Oval for a match against the Royals without several more players - we will see Kyle Russell return and a couple of youngsters

We’ve been a shadow of the side from last year and it will require a herculean effort from everyone involved to get 4 points in this one

Hopefully for Ken’s sake we can dig deep on Sunday

South Fremantle have won 4 out of the 5 previous encounters beween the two clubs. After last week, both clubs will be eager for the win. The weather forecast is cloudy conditions with rain late afternoon/ evening which is hard to believe after todays fine weather. And Souths should give a good account after hearing the coach signing on for another two years I’m hearing.

Have heard this match being covered by the SportFM commentary team.

Will probably be posted on Sport FM the day after.

Just got orf the telling phone with old mate and apparently South Fremantle paying 1 $ 65c for the win. Royals currently parked on two dollars 15c.

Bl**dy Department of Land Management or whatever the F they call themselves these days, decide to have a Burn Off in the 1st week off Winter before the Rains don’t allow their itchy fingers to do so before Spring!

So,I’ll still go to this game, but if my health deteriorates this week,It will be ALL THEIR FAULT!

The weather was hopefully not going to be a factor, coming in long after The Final Siren!

Should be a Top Game, despite Injuries on both sides.

Travel?Don’t know if the Royals have any current jetsetters,as Mr Strom has apparently jetted off.

Reckon the Royals can get one up on South today.

Say by 21 points?

Make it a Thumping 8 Goal Margin.

Losing Brayshaw who may have done a Hammy, wasn’t helpfull.

But the Royals covered his loss Easily.

For South, the Bye couldn’t have come quickly enough for their Senior Squad, not just the League Team to guage who’s available in the heavy going after mid June.

Gee that was a flogging. Reigning premiers in a slump at the moment

dig deep? geez yeah right

Congratulations to East Perth the Royals were far too good for us today

Went along today knowing we had it in front of us but I honestly didn’t believe we would hardly appear to be playing in this match

East Perth had 80 more touches , 50 odd more marks , took us to ground when it mattered and desired the 4 points basically

Despite the fact we have some missing troops I cannot defend the sudden drop off , the glaring lack of tangible plan and the appalling selection process we seem to have

It seems inevitable we will slide on out of the top 5 in coming weeks and miss finals - I think now may be the right time to look at the kids or untried to get some idea who stays

I went to the second half. Souths looked tired. I was impressed though by the hardness of both teams. No place for the faint hearted.

No surprise my end, couldnt see us winning this on recent form, a lot of talent out at mo and the scores we are kicking are so low - not goner win much.

Starting to drift now, I didnt expect us to be part of finals this year looking more that way.

Did I hear right on the telecast that your gun FF is taking off on an overseas holiday mid season !!! WTF. While not knowing all the details it looks like he’s not really onboard with the club or his team mates. Surely those sort of trips are end of season stuff, if your committed.

As for EP I think they are building well as they get some players back, will be right in the mix come finals time along with Freo and CL.

Clancy Wheeler did the same I reckon and came back to win a premiership

We actually have 2 players out this way

Noah Strom , who is a teacher , is overseas and missed yesterday’s round

Trey Ruscoe will miss the bye round next weekend

Of course we probably don’t need it given the few we are without right now but it is what it is - we had a good run last year and this year is making us pay for it
