2026 - R8 v East Fremantle at Fremantle Oval

Return home for the Foundation Day derby against Old Easts

Lose a suspended Matt Parker and the relegated Harvey who’s done a good job for such a raw young lad in trying circumstances all year I will mention.

But the flipside is that key forward Trey Ruscoe and ruckman West Love both return to bolster the spine - we got done in the ruck and key positions last week so these are good inclusions

Could still be wet and slippery in fact pretty much expected to be

The Southerners can’t afford to take this match lightly, even if they are favoured. Apparently paying 1$ 15c for the win, whilst East Fremantle currently sitting on over five dollars. And with the too much rain that fell on Saturday and yesterday, the grounds will be slippery.

The final score of the 2 concluded matches from Saturday were close. Would be good if the final score from todays remaining games were not a blowout.

I have not seen such a badly coached side in quite a few years

this is a rotten stinking game plan that has been easily picked apart by Bill Monaghan

well played and a deserved 4 points for Old Easts today

far too good for an amateurs coach in Craig White

we got very lucky last year and it has been shown in spades so far this year

worthless

You’re only 10 mins into the last quarter?

Had similar scoring shots but been inaccurate and butchered the ball going into your forward line several times but skill execution is your coaches fault?

Premiers last year, sitting 2nd this season and you’re slagging your coach off yet again…

I reckon most clubs supporters would be happy to have a coach who has delivered them a flag and will play finals again this season

Yes it is the coach’s fault

he’s got nothing

happy to own it entirely

shown in spades today

Crikey. Sharks knock off bulldogs, falcons currently doing royals, swans overrun demons and tigers just sneak home against lions. I think it’s been a long long time since we had such a tightly fought competition at this stage of the season. It’s great to see.

Went along as a neutral today.

it looked to me that your midfield didnt want to get their hands dirty.

Comprehensively outworked by sharks on ballers, helped by the behemoth ruckman. Clearance numbers bear this out.

shark backs held up well all day too and oscar smart a bit slippery

what was with Strom at FF?

I saw the last quarter at the ground. Roscoe was giving nothing. Stom their best option. Kicked 3?

As an aside, I thought Subi need some harder, fitter forwards to beat these teams.

Bulldogs were terrible too slow for most of the game. The Sharks were smaller and quicker, and handled the ball better.

The Sharks got the rough end of the umpiring, by a long way.

EF got lucky with Parker out and SF injuries….yeah agree Anchor…..the umps weren’t overly keen giving EF a free kick today…..good for the comp all the results this round ….keeps things interesting and everybody on their toes.

And you guys took full advantage,as I thought you might, with very good movement of the Ball and some Great Goals at the Hospital End.

I stand corrected, but I think Izzy Winder took Mark of the Year,..

it was JJ right in front me. was a ripper.

Ooops.

My Apologies Jamaine. It was a Ripper!

Really? He coached them to a flag in 2025 losing only 1 game and his win loss ratio as a coach is still over 90%. You just don’t do that by being lucky. Sure they were totally outplayed today because the Sharks worked harder and wanted it more, but those things happen in footy and I’m sure they will rebound.

We’re happy we got to Finals for starters.

If we Win a Flag,we’ll be ecstatic and beside ourselves.

If we Win a Flag with only 1 Loss,we’ll be in raptures. That bit will have to wait a year for now,…

Really disappointing game today. Worst effort and skill execution I’ve seen in 3-4 years.

We miss Hamish Free so much it’s going to cost us when he isn’t there.

He’s that important it’s not funny.

Where’s Graham? Solomon James? Kohen Sanchez who was recruited at the start of 2025 and has big raps on him, where is he?

Midfield got skilled today which is embarrassing.

Sanchez - Knee / Hamstring maybe 2 weeks from playing

Graham - Staph infection in arm maybe 2 weeks from playing

James - Ankle 2-3 weeks from playing

Stuhldreier - 1-2 weeks

A very disappointing derby by South today, showed very little of the passion required for the fixture unlike EFFC who appeared more desperate and hungry pretty much throughout the game, they also looked superior skill wise.

Their mids really made ours look disinterested at times, I know we had some big outs but there was no excuse for the lack of hunger.

Five goals till 3/4 time in what turned out to be very good conditions, poor return.

I think my prediction for SFFC 2026 performance might be coming to the level now as things get a bit tougher.

Some very interesting results of late suggest that the comp is alive and well with nothing certain.

I saw a stat that said EF had beaten the Dogs only once in the last ten years? If so, may be a bit of overconfidence?

The final score in this match, along with West Perth winning, Swans surprising win and Subiaco falling short by the narrowest of margins has made the competition interesting. Would have thrown a spanner in the works of the tipsters out there. The midde of the league ladder is looking very interesting.
