2025 - R3 v Swan Districts at Fremantle Oval

Time for the first John Todd Cup match of the season
It will be a tough hard fought affair and they usually are
there’s players selected that are a bit fortunate
and it’s time to have a win we’ve been disappointing in the past couple of seasons

You should be very confident Southerner. Swans are not playing well at the moment and it could be a 10 goal + margin

sorry but forget about White being a league coach
nowhere near

Gee thats pretty harsh mate. You are 3 zip. Can only beat the sides that are put out in front of you.

first of all unlucky Swan Districts you should have won that one
mate we were bloody lucky to keep you guys at bay
we were insipid and weak today for at least 80% of the game
we lost count of how many times our players just kicked it to Swans players
or just walked into tackles and got caught
there were 3 or 4 players who simply did not warrant selection after last week
O’Hehir , Byron , Ferreira & McDonald
and they were very poor today again particularly O’Hehir and Byron who almost gave the game to you guys single handedly
but the tactics aren’t there far too many times he’s got players kicking it nowhere
and it’s handball happy rubbish all the time
there is no way in high hell we deserve to be 3 nil
no way

Its all about results
We may have been unlucky but we are 0-3 and our season is on the line already
Souths are very comfy at 3-0. They may have to tighten up against better sides but wins on the board early in the season are very valuable

Extremely ordinary display I thought by South. Lackluster at times.

Also getting quite concerned at the attendances, very few in the club couple of weeks in a row now, given the 125 year, decent start etc. not many around even Swans had a small turnout.

Smallest EP v Swans crowd I’ve ever seen at Leederville the other week.

According to the WAFL site
2010 at Leederville on Good Friday
1219 at Peel
2101 at Fremantle
1903 at Lathlain
no figure for Saturday night game

Last week at the East Perth v Swans game there was 1574, compares with 2562 in the corresponding fixture last year, so there appears to have been a dramatic fall away in attendances which is a concern

1900 for a Perth v Eagles game no prior matches speaks volumes for the start time. Branding I’m told is the reason for these night matches. Next week is the last of these night games for my club apparently.

Not sure who the branding benefits. I’m guessing short term it’s in 7’s interest but maybe long term exposure to a new audience?

Didn’t you prefer to sit home on the couch instead of traveling to Lathlain?

Sounds pretty piss poor since you guys proudly show off your membership target and membership count and if the numbers are correct you kill the competition in membership numbers. And you are 3 zip.

I’m finding Perth supporters are getting pretty picky which games they attend also since you can watch all games live one way or another on the screen.

Yes thats a big drop, mindboggling that SF v SD had the biggest crowd 2100, it was pretty small, two weeks in a row now I’ve ducked into the members bar straight after the final siren, once you would struggle to get served, this time each week lucky if 4 people there, never seen it so empty game day, atmosphere just not there. Maybe its the cost of stuff now.

Re WAFL as a whole.
If the $20 general admission doesn’t turn them away the ridiculous beer prices will.
Couldn’t believe it was $8.50 for a mid-strength & $9.50 for a full strength at the EF can bar…only to be out done by Peel at $10 a can of mid or full strength. Theres 2 reasons why the average punter won’t go to the WAFL.
