2015 Foxtel Cup

The 2015 Aussie rules knockout cup competition will be in it’s 5th year.
At the time of writing, participating clubs are said to be Aspley, Norwood, Port Adelaide, North Launceston, Box Hill, Williamstown and the Grand Finalists from WA. If Subiaco can keep injuries to a minimum, keep the same team together and play like they did in 2014, they’ll go a long way.
The format of the competition is said to be matches will be played on Tuesday nights as stand alone games and be broadcast by Fox Footy.
The champions will receive $100,000 in prize-money while the runners-up take home $40,000.

Has been announced on the 14th of November 2014 that the Foxtel Cup, which pitted state-based Aussie rules clubs against one another, has been axed and will not return in 2015.
Reports confirmed Foxtel had pulled out of the competition.
The Foxtel Cup had been running since 2011.
It’s expected Foxtel will put funding towards alternative football content, including another ‘reality’ television programme.
It is unclear whether the competition will resume after 2015. A spokesperson remarked, "We expect a final decision to be reached in the near future.”
