Interesting that Belco and Aspley are playing off for the NEAFL representation, when Sydney Swans Ressies were premiers the Eastern, and Brissy Lions the Northern conferences in 2013.
Should Box Hill (Hawthorn) and East Perth (Eagles) now drop out?
The 2014 Foxtel Cup is under-way. The Qualifying round saw Aspley have a big win over Belconnen. Aspley 25.23(173) def Belconnen 2.5(17)
Aspley will now play Williamstown on the 20th May.
Oops, slight mistake there. That should be Aspley 25 20 (170) defeated Belconnen 2 5 (17)
They play pretty good footy the QLD teams. Very WAFL style in my opinion.
Planning on watching the Qbn Tigers belt Belco on the 19th of April myself.

Heard on the grapevine West Perth hold a commanding lead in tonight’s Foxtel Cup First semi final at three quarter time. woo hoo
West Perth has secured a place in this year’s Foxtel Cup Grand Final.
The Falcons showed the class difference between the WAFL and the Tasmanian State League, claiming a 74-point semi-final victory over the Prospect Western Storm at Subiaco.
Stand-in captain Matt Guadagnin was delighted by West Perth’s performance.
“We came here tonight to do a job and we have,” Guadagnin said.
West Perth’s scoring was good early, scoring from the first five entries into their forward 50m and probably should have led by more than 19 points at quarter-time.
The Storm could not penetrate the Falcons’ defence or match the intensity of the Falcons’ midfield, led by senior debutant Aidan Lynch.
The Storm did match the Falcons around the contest in the early part of the second term before the home side powered away with four goals in a seven-minute burst to take a commanding 44-point lead into half-time.
The Storm had six players who represented Tasmania in its interstate win over the NEAFL in Hobart on Saturday, including captain Jay Blackberry and Matt Hanson who worked tirelessly.
Hanson was the Storm’s leading disposal winner with 20, 14 of those contested.
Their forwards were starved of opportunities with the first goal coming from Alex Russell mid-way through the third term.
WEST PERTH Q1–3.3 Half time–7.5 Q3–11.6 Full time–15.7 (97)

West Perth now plays for next month’s $100,000 winner’s cheque and is at least guaranteed $40,000 for making the Grand Final.
As predicted by many, Williamstown will play West Perth in the Foxtel Cup Grand Final. The inaugural winners of the competition in 2011, the high flying Seagulls won their Semi Final match tonight at Subiaco and will face West Perth on the 22 July 2014 at 20:35 EST in the Grand Final.
East Perth’s Eagles side obviously didn’t need the $100,000
Good on Williamstown. Should be a good final, and I hope for the Cardies sake they take the $100,000 but the Seagulls would have to be favorites for this year I’d think.
Apparently the weather forecast for the big Foxtel Cup Grand Final is looking like a fine evening with no rain forecast.
TWO OF the country’s oldest football clubs, Williamstown and West Perth, will do battle for the $100,000 first prize for the 2014 Foxtel Cup at Kardinya Park in Geelong tomorrow night.
Williamstown, celebrating its 150th anniversary this season, is out to claim its second Foxtel Cup title in four years, having won the inaugural competition in 2011, while for West Perth, which boasts a rich 129-year history, the clash marks its first Foxtel Cup Grand Final appearance.
The match will consist of four 20-minute quarters, including time-on.

Williamstown is again proving to be a genuine top-four contender this year, having made the VFL finals series for the last eight seasons. The Seagulls sit in fourth position on the ladder with a 9-4 win-loss ratio after 15 rounds.
It has been a disappointing year for West Perth in the WAFL competition. After round 17, the reigning premier finds itself in fifth place on the ladder. The Falcons sit four wins outside the top four with a 6-8 win-loss record.
Am anticipating a good tight match.
West Perth flew out to Melbourne today and then will go across to Geelong where they will stay tonight and tomorrow night. Will have a recovery session Wednesday morning and then fly out of Melbourne that afternoon. West Perth then have a normal training session on Thursday, ahead of their Wafl match on Saturday.
Williamstown is the first multiple winner of the Foxtel Cup after the Seagulls defeated West Perth by 63 points in the Grand Final played at Geelong this evening.
A five-goal opening term set up the Seagulls victory as the Falcons, the reigning WAFL premiers, struggled in the slippery and very cold conditions - where the temperature dropped to as low as two degrees.Corey Chalmers scored West Perth’s sole major of the night early in the last term.
