I’m not sure anyone else caught Andrea Bocelli at Sandalford Winery last night in front a jam packed crowd but this guy is an unbelievable performer. The strength and range of his voice when he’s singing live has to be heard to be believed even if you’re not an opera aficionado as this guy transcends popular music and opera. A magical night for the missus and I which will remain in our memories for a long, long time. Grazie mille Andrea.
Shit BC, a bit of culture for a Suby supporter.
Yes mate. We’re very cultured at the mighty Lions. Mind you, I thought with Bocelli being a ding and singing Puccini, you garlic munchers would have been there in droves as well but I don’t think there were any as I couldn’t here that fog horn shouting “Go West”. ![]()
Saw him before at the old Burswood Dome, yes great singer, was quite amazed he was even in town again, this show didnt get much lead up publicity.
They didn’t have to advertise it Baz as tickets sold out in hours. Well over 5,000 but hard to tell the final count as the general public tickets were for the grassed area so no limit from what I can gather. Mind you, they didn’t have to go for big numbers based on ticket prices which were pretty expensive if I may say so.
Didnt hear anything about it at all prior.
Mind you been to Sandalford for concerts before and don’t rate it, logistics are not good, I heard a heap of people on PR complaining about the massive traffic jam to get out.
We bought a package with dinner, drinks and VIP seating so didn’t have a problem with the sound. The traffic jam after was a real pain as the VIP guests were allocated an area close to the main building whereas general admission were down the road a bit but the problem was only one exit out for everyone. We managed to slip down a side road and got away pretty quickly but I reckon it would have taken a couple of hours to clear otherwise.
