When the series was decided after the third test, it was a one horse race.Starc wins by the length of the straight. And that is without his influence with the bat on a regular basis.
But since then, Head pops up with a three tons,Carey with his superb hundred and supreme wicket keeping.
I guess Root must have a look in with two tons.
For me, still has to be Starc, but the pack were/ are coming for him late.
Starc 3
Head 2
Root 1
couple of things
yes Root has been fantastic
but it’s who engineers the wins
so for that criteria
it’s a dual recipient
Starc & Head to share the medal
both of these two have equally contributed
and importantly when it mattered most
and too hard to separate each other entirely
Point taken,but that’s my Vote!
Head 3
Starc 2
Carey 1
Head/Starc was a toss of the coin job.
Root played two fine innings (138no and 160), but he scored a combined 102 runs in his other eight innings, so he misses out on votes in my book due to his great inconsistency.
But Joe had a lot of mates (on both sides) when it came to inconsistency.
