6 games , 6 comfortable wins, percentage of 162, nearest rival 2 games back. They have achieved this with a growing injury list and unless this continues will get even stronger in the 2nd half of the year. The next two games will be interesting as they play Perth and East Fremantle who I think are capable of mounting a challenge, particularly with Claremont weakened somewhat. West Perth also gave them a run for their money. History is littered with teams who have barnstorming starts but fall away late in the season but such is the quality of the Tigers you would not expect that to happen. If I had to pick anyone who might be able to stop them winning their third flag in a row it would be the Sharks who may be driven by their GF loss last year
Is an interesting round. I certainly would not be writing Perth off in this match. Their supporters we’re very happy last round and they only had the one injury concern where Tunbridge? hurt a finger. Perth will be confident.
This will test where Perth really are IMO.
We have them after the state bye and will tell us where we are.
Who knows Claremont could lose both these games and its open wide.
CLA will be in the GF and it depends on who plays them. The GF can be different game and considering CLA are not winning by Huge margins whoever plays them have a chance.
EF blew it giving CLA a 9 goal start and almost comming back. That wont happen and maybe, just maybe, they will be the two teams left to play out the last year of the almost true WAFL comp. Early days and top 4 well in contention for any team.
Another few rounds should tell the story but would be great to see at least 7 teams still in the running for the Finals as this could increase crowds and keep the Fickle WAFL supporter interested. Round 6 proved on any given day any team can win.
It is a real shame that success in the WAFL leads to complacency with clubs supporters.
Claremont are my least favortie team in the G7 because they have next to no supporters.
They must address this. And by fixing their ground they will but more needs to be done now.
Will be looking on with immense interest on Saturday.
Go Dees
Time for a Flag.
should get schammer and mcginnity this week too. another 2 afl quality players through middle. blackwell will be back before we know it. and get them 2 talls handley and mcgovern middle of the year. which we cover by playing dual ruckmen.
Schammer and Mcginnity AFL quality are you serious.
Cardy are you serious?
“considering CLA are not winning by Huge margins”
We have beaten:
SF by 48pts
SD by 61pts
EP by 54pts
Subi by 54pts
Perhaps you mean the past 2 games where we beat WP by 19 and Peel by 17 but really we haven’t even come close to losing and the past two games we had half a side almost.
It all comes down to the big day. We could win every game and then lose the big one who knows. Look what happened in 2010 when we lost by a point.
OK Tigeriffic nice wins but I dont think CLA will be playing a final against those teams you mention with the exception of SD who have proven they are a force on any given day. Dont put EP SUBI OR SF in my top fourn.
Long way to go yet and it is a very interesting race on the ladder.
End of round two should give us an indication but it could go down to the wire for that 3 and 4 spot (assuming EF are in 2nd)
CLA are certainly hot favourites as they should be and with a few comming back will improve.
Will still enjoy the contest between the other 8 as Footy games for the rest of this season. Tipping these wafl games is certainly no easy task.
Tigeriffic, is there an air of invincibility at the Club?
I watched the game on Saturday and I am not sure that Claremont looked all that unbeatable.
Yes I know you have players out but you do have a reserves team that has been dominant in recent years.
I would not necessarily get complacent if I were Claremont, there are teams out there that might just give you a run for your money.
We ourselves are looking forward to the challenge to see where we are at.
Claremont do what Claremont have to do on the day.
Playing Peel probably doesnt get them pumped that much, yeah i know Peel beat them last season but sometimes i reckon when you are the top team you tend to go in cruise mode a bit and thats what they did Sunday, they did what they had to to win.
Make no mistake they are the best team in the comp and have a number of quality players to come back into that team.
I am sure when Claremont get back Handley, Blackwell, Schammer, Bradshaw, McGovern and Laurie there will be some pretty tough competition for spots so i cant see them being complacent..
Swans have had many thrashings at the hands of Claremont in our GF winning seasons. The point to note is that the finals and particularly the GF are significantly different to qualifying games.
If a team doesn’t play with the necessary intensity then Claremont are very adept at hand out thrashings. If any team is to beat Claremont then they need that intenisty which occurs in finals’ footy.
Certainly at this point in time Claremont are the team to beat; but it is a long season.

We’re not that stupid mate - that attitude will kill you and it cost us a flag in 2010. Marc Webb is a very smart operator and will know that arrogance is a real danger so in answer to your question - no there definitely isn’t.
Great start but it’s just that, will we lose games? of course we will every side has a bad week. Are we happy with where we are, hell yes who wouldn’t be happy at 6 from 6.
Its a wrap for the Tiges , back to back, last flag before they get cleaned out by the host deal.
Peel lost that game on Sun by kicking 0.5 in the last…Cl just showed that like all sides, if you play them close and apply the pressure, they will crack…plenty of time for Cl to stumble…interesting to see Cl reserves depth isn’t as formidible as in previous years…usually their reserves are sitting pretty on top, not this year…only early days I know, but interesting all the same!
Long way to go yet but if it is a EF V CLA GF. Considering their lists could be interesting
EF Gave them a 9 goal start yet came back. The effort killed them. Cant see it happening again. CLA certainly had some GF experience going into that game as well.
EF will have the thoughts of what happened in 2012 in their minds.
Only team I can see who will give them a challenge.
agree cardy and then next year it’ll be the start of total domination by the beagles and the dorks. we’ll only lose Callum Sinclair but EF, CL, SD will really feel the pinch.
yeah but BC, Sinclair is worth half Subi’s side at present don’t you think? He’s a bit of a one man band for Subi, without him you haven’t got a decent ruck…Madut has got a few years to go yet…
EF will be working hard to make the GF Cardy, they lack a quality tall up front, Griffen played a blinder in the GF last eyar, without him Cl would of won by 15 goals I reckon!
wont effect Swans at all, with Newman out for 8 weeks with a knee we have no afl listed players in our team at present unless Neale gets dropped or NicNat plays a game..
