I’m concerned with that Perth figure also. But in the southern suburbs everything does revolve around the entry of Peel, without going in a lot of detail. I mean Roleystone belongs to South, not Perth, yet Rockingham belongs to Peel not South
Rockingham was East Fremantle’s zone mate - South had east of that Kwinana etc downwards
And somehow we have contorted zones in what was EF & Perth nowadays
Nothing personal toward loyalist old EP supporters here but zones have to be reduced due to alignment assistance , and the realistic truth that pathways are heavily restricted - that’s only fair
Mandurah - well I couldn’t care less really , still nearly 300k in debt to the rest of us , nothing but trouble & embarrassment since 1997

But Rockingham should belong to South and Armadale etc should belong to Perth. Mate its obvious.
That said I want an even colts comp. Kids rocking up to training knowing they can’t win?..Nah mate thats not on
Oh absolutely yeah - location-wise for sure it is obvious mate we know that.
Currently I believe we have 3 clubs divvying up Bunbury too , bloody ridiculous
But it could get worse if the Blue & Gold rubbish get their own side in the future too - sad to say
I sincerely hope we can go back to the even distribution of AFL players so that we can get back to doing what we all do best , producing players of quality in our traditional zones
I highly doubt the alignment will be extended at EP from what I have been told. Taking junior clubs away from EP is of no benefit to the WAFL going forward in my opinion. I think spreading some of Peel’s juniors around is a start.
Interesting to note SF have done more than well at colts level of late yet little league success, whilst Subi colts have struggled yet dominated the league…LH dont think WAFL zones have curtailed any Subi success mate…as Dwert rightly said league success surely outweighs colts success come end of the day…EP and Peel from a league level only need other WAFL, SANFL, TAC etc clubs to develop their potential league success…Subi have Domain to develop their league success…colts footy might be about future succes but it doesnt guarantee a club league success…
La Hinchas point if I understand it correctly is that we are dealing with 16 and 17 year old kids here who we want to encourage to stay in the game and if their team is getting flogged every week they are more likely get discouraged and give it up which is not what we want to see. Its also better for all players development if they are in competitive matches every week. The WAFC should consider this point when looking at the zones going forward.
We will have Ellenbrook back; the boys will be able to get the train (that Labor will build) and get off at Success Hill for training.
Let’s hope any future considerations in Club Zones comes with a Future Without the AFL Clubs.
The Presidents need to stare the Commission’s Gun down and Vote the AFL Clubs OUT and to the East!
I for one,am tired of the AFL Clubs’ excuses, they can’t afford to send another team East 10 times, when they got Accommodation Concessions last year and they are both Very Cosy with Virgin now!
Time for them to go.Besides,Bazza reckons that Advertising Revenue should do us fine!
But who needs $100 Grand, when your competition is being bent over anyway?!I am fed up with us being Divided and Conquered,so c’mon folks, time to start renewing pressure on the Clubs,to piss off the Eagles and Dockers from the WAFL!Then we might see how really interested 7 are in Telecasting the WAFL!
Time for the 9 Clubs to Address this issue 1st and Foremost. If Peel and East Perth don’t like it,bad luck.Majority of the WAFL Clubs Rules.West Coast and Fremantle should have Absolutely ZERO say in this!
Address this Important issue 1st,before moving onto the Zone Debate!
Serious question for LH …are you having a lend of us with this topic?
In the last 31 years you are destined for your 9th flag, 16th GF appearance & 25th finals appearance this season in that time period with a (especially last 15 years) largely foreign legion playing squad. That is more than a decent run at it in any fair minded laymans terms and to be honest the continual success of Subi has been as detrimental to the overall interest or disinterest maybe more appropriate in the WAFL as the 2 alignment fiascos. Yes I understand that is League not Colts but if you believe that club ethos would change even after a zone redistribution then you are seriously mistaken!

First up - sell that maggoty pair of licences straight back to where they belong Grass , Vicco
Thus weakening the influence & giving us a future at the same time
To be fair to La Hincha Bease,I don’t think he is.
Your comment is interesting Larry about EP and the alignment going forward.Does that mean the Eagles will form there own side like the Crows in the Sanfl..The Wafl goes to a 10 team competition. Will be a better draw with an even amount of sides playing each other side twice.Home and Away.
BH after watching Subi last Saturday with that brick wall defence they have.Unless something goes seriously wrong for Subi in the finals. They look the favourites atm.

Would love to see the actual figures from the Census report we are going to do next week and match them against the above figures with a percentage of actual participants.
Either way participation throughout is on the decline (except Auskick). Jacko hit the nail on the head on Open Mike last week in saying the AFL are doing nothing to help with grass roots footy. It was great to hear it on TV but I’d say it would of been over shadowed by all the other carry on. Who would of thought EF & SF have had to combine their older age groups to sustain a decent comp…absolutely disgraceful!!!

Thank you for that BH, your comments perfectly support and back up the point that LH is trying to make, when the zones and participation numbers are evened up just a little bit, Subiaco will hopefully see more home grown talent comming through and will rely a lot less on recruiting. Good to see that you’re on the same page as us.

Do these numbers include the country zones?
the key to any zones is to make sure kids are travelling to a WAFL club which is actually near their zone..
Subi colts would be better off basing themselves at Kingsway for all their training and development as that club is a massive club and high on the ladder in junior grades and coudl be used as a central point in their zone, making kids travel all the way to Leederville makes no sense.
pinching a junior club off another zone only makes sense if the kids dont have to travel too far as its the parents and the kids who have to do the travelling, not the decision makers.
What the Eagles may do in the future is very fluid. One guarantee is they want their players largely in one team. So we can get the idea of an equal split of talent out of our heads.
After the last Zone re-distribution, where Subi basically got nothing they asked for, a rep of the board was heard to comment that “given this decision the club has been given no alternative but to continue to recruit players from local and interstate to underpin continued success” This is a chicken and egg situation of give us a far go with junior zones and we wont have to go outside to maintain a quality list. Certainly when Subi oval is demolished and our historic link with and contract over the ground rights finishes at the end of '17, the junior situation becomes even more relevant.
All clubs recruit outside to some extent, even with a vast junior district including Ellenbrook back then, Swans recruited outside to the extent of around 50% of their 2010 flag team, they chose to do that, Subi don’t have the extent of choice of juniors that other clubs like Swans have so don’t have the same choices.
