v Scum WCE

another win certainly not out of the question here…think the boys confidence is high atm & there is some real self believe in the group…

Pitty the belief wasnt there when it mattered.. counts for f8ckall now..

indeed terror…but from an SF perspective, we need to finish the year on a positive note…

Finishing on a positive note means nothing either.. WP lost their last 3 games last year then won their first 4 games this year..

Nah dont agree, if it avoids the wooden spoon and gets up higher up the ladder its a good thing.

but i do agree unless you back it up the following year its pretty much worthless.

Same finish as last year.

Well warm one 25 so comming down to Freo to watch this game. Lets hope the Doggies come out like Pit bulls and attack. Nothing to lose really against the Ferals.
I know how I will be barracking or and will remind the EP players to enjoy as a few of them wont be back next year in the EP league… Sad - bullshit..

I will wear my white Falcons shirt and on the fence…

Enjoy

Looking at the side for the League SF dont seem to have a bad team v EP. SF guys would know better than me but on paper looks like it should be a good game. Great weather for footy

WOW what a game.. Enjoyed every minute of it and one of the best win I have seen this year. The lead changed several times.
Nice to see the Ferrals lose as well as it cements 2nd spot for WP.
Thanks guys.
SF were on fire and just never gave up.
Marlon Pickett played a brilliant game in his Debut and high possessions. The guy is the future of the SFFC..

Well done. A nice Trifecta in winning all grades as well in their last home game for 2013

Never thought I’d be pleased to see our uneducated lowly neighbours win a game, but this was mint!!!

Yep and the other good news is if EF win and EP lose they are out of the four.
Cant see that happening but the way the WAFL is - ON ANY GIVEN DAY

Just hope no one gets Worobec as umpire as saw him last week and he was shocking again today… They have to drop him down as he is just not up to grade at the moment IMO
The guy tries but he is to technical and likes giving away 50’s.
Will most probably be a good umpire one day but just gotta go with the flow more

We will probably get Worobec next week at Basso mate as he just loves Swans! not..

Good roundup v EP from the West..

Full article on this game

Pickett stars on debut as Bulldogs prevail in 43-goal classic

South Fremantle staged a remarkable second-half revival to win a 43-goal shoot-out by 12 points at Fremantle Oval today.

Led by first-game player Marlon Pickett, the Bulldogs charged home after trailing by 15 points at half time to take the match 22.13 (145) to 21.7 (133).

The home team kicked 15.1 (91) in the second half to snatch the game from the Royals. who were restricted to 10.4 (64).

Wingman Pickett had one of the best league debuts in recent times, finishing with 26 possessions, nine marks, four clearances, eight inside 50s and three goals in a performance sure to attract the attention of AFL talent scouts.

Forwards Ben Saunders and Kris Miller also featured strongly with five goals apiece, nine in the second half when South Fremantle came storming home.

Bulldogs midfielders Pickett, Ryan Cook, Haiden Schloithe, Mitch Banner, and Tim Kelly were prominent for the winners along with full back Dylan Ross.

West Coast veteran Adam Selwood was among the best players for the Royals with five goals along along with ruckman Paul Johnson, Sandover Medal favourite Brendan Lee, Mat Seal, Craig Wulff and Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls.

Dogman finally sees SF win in 2013.

And he loved every minute of it. :stuck_out_tongue:

A big improvement over the last 6-8 weeks where we have been WP, EP, EF, Subi and Peel and narrow losses to Perth 10 points and Cl 4pts.

To make it even better and productive for the future is the players below who played league yesterday. Have a look at the ages of these blokes.

Blaine Johnson 18
Steven Verrier 19
Marlon Pickett 21
Tim Kelly 19
Adam Carter 19
James Laurino 20
Warrick Andreoli 21
Nicholas Borovac 21
Ben Saunders 21
Jacob Martinez 20
Hayden Schloithe 20

Then we had McIntosh, Banner and Tighe who are under 23 yrs old.

Even having a look at the reserves side yesterday all of these players are under 21 yrs of age.

Bolger 20, Vandeleur 18, Maskos 20, Van Manen 21, K Matera 19, D’vauz 19, Z Strom 19, Hamilton 19, Smith 21, Russell 21, Sokol 18, Main 18, M Carter 21, Monaco 20, Banks 18, Hogan 19, Panizza 20 and Parry 21. 18 of the blokes were under 21 and we now sit 2nd on the reserves ladder. Staggering. I think Bairstow was the oldest player at 25 yrs old yesterday with Bewick, Admas, Winter and Grima all 22-23 yrs old anyway.

Fantastic effort by all 3 grades yesterday. Hasleby and the match committee have to be congratulated on making some very hard but fair calls on some of our league “senior” players such as M.Carter, Reece Adams, Monaco, Alex Grima, Toby Bairstow and Jarrod Winter who were all dropped to the reserves over the past 2-3 weeks. Young players have been given a go over the last month to see what they can do. Won the last 3 which is really a bonus.

What an awesome debut from Marlon Pickett yesterday. From SD I believe, not sure how we got him though. Played about 6 ressies games and got a crack yesterday and showed absolute class. What a ripper he is going to be. Kelly, Martinez, Ross, Schloithe are anow playing some consistent football against some bigger bodies but are doing it very well.

Kris Miller HAS to keep going for us in 2014 not just because he increases our average age of the group by about 4.5 years but he kicked 5 goals yesterday and showed that he could easily be a specialist HFF and kick 50 goals the way he can read the play. Gumby also needs to play on. His spring and leap is unreal at 32 yrs old and he has become so dangerous now with Saunders and Gillespie up there. Maybe another key forward next year at CHF could make us exciting next year letting Gillespie and Tighe ruck / CHB if needed.

Saying all this though . . . . I think I said it at the end of last year. Hopefully next year we can start well and be in the race for the 4 at the half way mark. Will lose Adam Carter and Hams (if he retains a spot at wce which he may not you would think and didn’t play yesterday either due to a week’s suspension) and Hayden Schloithe to Peel as I hope he gets a spot on Freo’s main list and upgraded from a rookie, he deserves it but then we lose him =(

Future looks very bright even though I expect 4-6 of the youngsters to get drafted again. 2-3 recruits with some big bodies in the 24-27 yr old age bracket may just set us up quite nicely.

Finish off next week v Perth and then get down to watch the ressies and colts play in some finals.

Go dogs.

Doggie whilst on paper that all looks dandy mate, I really think you need to reign it in mate…shit can happen over the off season…youngsters drafted, rookied…even offered contracts, in the prospect of being groomed for the following year by an AFL/WAFL aligned club…

some great reading there tho, a few wins and all the earlier part of the season is forgotten…I wish you guys all the best, but how many sides have we seen play good footy at the end of the season and do fudge all the next year…

Great Win, pity I was away and missed it,but will be at Latho to see them beat Perth to finish the season well.

I was at this game and Kris lead by example and from the Front. Hopefully he can get another year in to guide the young players comming through at SF. I have always had a lot of respect for Kris.

Congratulations to South Fremantle Football Club’s Kris Miller who claims the AAMI WAFL Player of the Week Award for Round 23 after being named one of the best on ground for South Fremantle with 19 disposals and 5 goals. WAFL #sf13
