Although I didn’t see the game - I am amazed we lost by that much. EP Colts and Ressies were all over us and hungry when I left at 1/2 time of the Ressies. Looks like It continued into the league. Do EP handle the crapy oval better? Looking at the numbers our gun mids didn’t do well and being from Geelong you would expect they are use to this type of oval.
Terrible day for the club. I will be nervous next week v Swnans on a game I will be there to watch. What’s the go with Regan Clarks stats - 6 disposals - any injury concerns ?
Not much coming up from the Ressies with their loss.
With the way our forward line failed today, I think Q must get a recall.
Yep, I’ve seen enough of Gray.
I had my worries about Derkson pretty early - but he has been getting his one or two from limited disposals. Give Gray and Moore one more shot for mine though. The reason being footy has a lot to do with confidence - we cant have one shot at it - fail and then be put aside.
A few on WAFL said Q would have been a better replacement for A Clarke - Agree
Two big away losses now - enough
Gray has had plenty of chances.
Give someone else a chance.
Our problem is still the good teams can out muscle us at the ball.
They came out with intent with push and shove all over the ground before the first bounce.
Agree DF and the same in the Ressies and Colts. My thoughts about Gray though is he is not one to be pushed and shoved around. One more game for tow in a row this year. Any word on injuries - R Clarke way down on stats for him!
Laycock needs bending over. Effing useless umpire. How the fk Tom North got a free kick for a high tackle can someone explain at the 22.50 minute mark of the 1st qtr. Replayed it three times can’t see it. Dead in front 25 metres out, easy goal.
Dark day. The colts blew a chance to shore up finals - now a 50/50 chance. Reserves blew a chance to look at top 2 - should still make finals, but at 4-5. I had hoped the days of losing by that sort of margin, just rolling over, were in the past. Yes, injuries are mounting, but surely we had enough class and experience to limit the damage? Constable was tagged for the second week running, but unlike last week, Parfitt couldn’t compensate.
Still, as DF said a while back, we need to keep things in perspective. We were never likely to go from 4 consecutive years of finishing second last to flag contenders. Any one of us would have taken 8-5 at this point of the season. It would still take a monumental choke, but I am a little nervous about finals now - we are 3 games ahead of WP, with 5 to play, 4 ahead of Peel, who have 6 left. The pattern of the season has been that we have beaten the bottom 5 reasonably comfortably, so hopefully that will hold next week v SD at home, followed by a welcome bye, and then we hope to get Simpson, Edwards, Paton and Clarke back in. Four of our last 5 games are against bottom five teams, and two wins will be enough to secure finals.
The forward line is a mess without Clarke. Derkesn is ok if he plays alongside a key forward, but he is out of his depth as a target himself. At this stage, any team who kicks 12 goals against us will win. If Clarke is out again, I agree we should have Q as a target up forward, or alternatively, give Jacques a run and play Schlensog forward.

Scoble off for most of the last qtr. looks like the young body is struggling to hold up.
Philip again good but bit by it many to come through the Ressies to help. Saw N John turn the balm over out of the D59 at least half a dozen times today. - unfortunate as he had a great game last week.
A couple of players I like in the ressies are Cherry-Bayles (19 ex SF) shows composure and solid build, Samual Cameron (185cm looks taller solid build and good skills) and Benjamin Fairbank. Very versatile.
Yes I liked the look of Fairbank in his one game last year.
Yes, Ted, I raised my expectation this week.
Thinking, win this one and we are a chance for top 3.
I think I actually said it in a post.
To make a GF you have to play a minimum of 20 games. I would be concerned if some players are fatigued after 13 rounds, which includes 2 byes.
Take Della (why didn’t he play at any level today?) and Gray out of the reserves and they are poor. Very few players can step up to the league team. That’s where the walk out of Clark, Stubbs, Cogs and Randall has hurt. Add that to our recent run of injuries and we are exposed as short on depth. Thorne has been a major disappointment. John is 24 - if he’s not a league player by now, he never will be. But if we can come in after the bye with Edwards, Simpson, Poole, Clarke and Paton ready, and with Johnston and Glass-McCasker coming back through the reserves, both teams will get a significant boost.
Just a shout out to the EP boys on here. Hope Liam Tedesco is ok. Just looking at the replay in slow mo looks like he turned his head to his left just as Baxter Philip was flying for the mark. Seems his knee might have made contact with the temple area of Tedescos’ head. Hopefully it’s not too bad and he makes a good recovery.

Thanks for the thoughts about Teddy (Tedesco). I know the commentators on the 7 replay kept referring to him as Luke, his actual name is Liam Tedesco. He was just fine after the game, cheerful, laughing, joined in the club song etc. Anyhow, thanks.

I said it last time Rod Willett hosted the game - he is just far too awkward to be interviewing anyone. Im half way through the game and the first thing I noticed is that EP are a lot bigger than Perth - not just in height but muscle. They do everything they can to intimidate us.
If Clarke is still out next then Q must come in. We need a target of some sort up forward. Luers took a good mark and kicked the goal but was unsighted apart from that. Agree that Derksen is not a key position player. The same goes for Bodle.
As per Al_To_1949’s post, rednblack, thanks for your best wishes regarding Liam Tedesco (re Channel 7’s call, I’m assuming that Luke, and also Matthew, are either Liam’s older brothers or his cousins).
“Teddy” received yesterday what used to be called a “hospital pass”, but thankfully he didn’t end up in hospital.
Yes Matt Tedesco played a couple of seasons at Perth but decided he wanted to play with his mates at Whitfords. Was disappointing to see him go was a very good wingman. I think all the Tedescos’ get the nickname Teddy.
Big family of market gardeners I think from the back of Wanneroo. Got to know them when my son did Little Athletics. Remember they had a young daughter who could run like the wind. Very nice family.
Courtesy of the WAFL Footy Facts website, rednblack, I notice that Matt actually played more games at Perth than he did West Perth (51 versus 38), as Liam has done at East Perth (52 EP, 20 WP), while Luke played 152 at WP.
Although I’ve only briefly spoken with Liam, he seems like a pretty laidback and good-natured fella, consistent with your description of the Tedesco family.
