Upper Great Southern Footy League season kicks off this Saturday evening with Premiers Bodddington taking on Narrogin.
Boddington will a strong side again though losing Kane Ransted (WAFL), Captain Alex Townswnd (Kimberley),Craig Edberts (WAAFL) and Joe McCormack (Albany) to name a few. But as usual they will recruit solid and be a main Premiership candidate.
The come up against the Narrogin Hawks, who have under achieved over the past few years. The Hawks get former Coach Chris Wheatcroft who will add experience to the young side.
Katanning look likely to be improver this season with there young side with another season under there belt. Braden Crosby, Dean Fewson and Dusty Allen return, whilst Todd Hetherington and Laurie Collard have moved to the Peel League.
They should be too strong for a Wagin side who have lost Fairest & Best Todd Richards to Avon and Lance Daly (WAFL) and will rely on their youth coming through the grades.
Wickepin will be looking to improve and have gained Kodie Fleay from Perth , and they will take on Brookton/Pingelly who have recruited strongly including Scott Ugle from Peel.
Powerhouse Williams have lost a few good players in Mark Gilhome and Steele Morrell to WAAFL, but have recruited strongly from the SWFL. Kukerin/Dumbleyung have lost good players in Troy Ditchburn, Trent Joyce and Josh Ball but have been on a recruiting campaign to remain in finals contention, including Nathan Willmott and Bronson Leo from Claremont.
