Test Match Series - Summer 2024/25

and this one is for the corrupted & badly compromised ICC
get your umpires to take control and stop this rubbish on-field sledging that has taken over the sport
and if you cannot utilise the DRS system fairly then abolish it and go back to the old system permanently for once and for all

and now Starc is bowling his rubbish half track shit again
geez what a lot of crock this lot are

The spineless selection/coaching panel now really being shown up with Starc absolutely leaking all important runs.
There is no way he should have played this Test, this mob never learn after so many other 5 Test Series of playing the same fast bowlers who have nothing left in the tank by the 5th including the last times India have toured here.
Jaiswal & co will dine out on his wide half track rubbish!

As for Alex Carey’s batting, at what point in time are they going to realise he has a massive flaw in his technique???
You could drive a Mack Truck through his defence with the gap he leaves when playing so far away from his front pad, good bowlers know this that is why he has a ridiculously high percentage of being dismissed bowled.
Any chance the overpaid numpty coaches could iron out this continual flaw or even better just get Inglis in to replace him!!!

Well Jizzwall didn’t last long neither did King Wanker, 4 down, Boland is bowling beautifully but Pant is playing one of the great T20 innings in test history, really riding his luck and so far it’s working for him. Australia would not want to chase more than 180/190, they appear to be just not capable, especially on such a bad cricket wicket.

What a great see sawing day…Aust missed a huge opportunity to get a decisive lead over India…Jaiswal and Pant did their best to T20 India to a lead that Aust won’t be able to chase…BGT on the line…anyone’s guess who is gonna end up on top.

I know who I am hoping will win this test and the series 3-1…Honestly can’t say that about a couple of others on here though. Going to be a classic finish, to a series where ball has definitely triumphed over bat.

Marsh can now focus on the shorter versions of the game and the Western Warriors. Webster is going to make it tough for Cameron Green to get back in the test side. His batting is very solid. Probably technically superior to Green. Green got age on his side at 25 compared to Webster 31 but it will be hard to remove him out of the test side now. Nice problem to have.

a good win
now for a regeneration and the perfect time for the rebuild to begin
Webster has shown it needs to start now

A couple,of big ins in the last two tests.
Webster,Kontas +Boland.
Webster shows the quality of the Sheffield Shield.Played like a vetran of 50 tests.
Great to see the Pink Test raised over 8 million.Well done to 85 year old John Howard. For all his hard work with the Mcgrath Foundation.
What a stinker of a 5th test wicket.Truly a 3rd world wicket preparation.
Great to see the selectors take control. After the first test hiding.Apart from Starc selection in Sydney.

Gee what an inspired selection Beau Webster was.
If only he was picked from the 1st Test hey!

GTR Konstas has a long, long way to go to be a Test batsman.
That shot he got out too was just awful, especially with where the Test was at that stage, delicately poised, India on the ropes, no Bumrah, and he plays what could only be described as an up country slog that was only ever going to be one result with the field already spread on the boundary.
The inevitable collapse almost followed with 3-4 quick wickets before Head & Webster steadied the ship.
The kid showed his real lack of maturity, nous, experience and a lack of game sense.
Test cricket is not Mickey Mouse T20 stuff, hopefully he learns from that!

Imo BH Connelly is a better batsman and allround cricketer than Konstas. But that a different debate for another day.
He got under the Indians skin and drove then nuts.Hes got a bigger mouth than Laba.

Freeze theirs a massive online Cricket formum called
Indiancricketfans.com
Has over 400,000 registered posters.
They all have attitude and are very thinned skinned. You would have a ball posting on that forum.

Well deserved victory by Aust…may have got lucky with no Bumrah today, but geez just goes to show how reliant India were on the guy for his wickets…only a matter of time his body was going to fall apart.

Agree with BH re Webster, long overdue selection, hopefully that will encourage more adventurous selections in the future…not sure Webster is an example of ushering in the next generation, at 31 years of age, he just deserved a crack…

Apparently Kuhnemann and Handscomb look likely SL travellers…hopefully Connolly gets a look in…but I guess that would be one step too far the Aust selectors…one can only hope…no more Starc for 5 tests on the trot please…just rotate the farking bowlers please

Connelly wont get a look in because he lives on the wrong side of the country. They must have sweated long and hard over Websters selection given he’s not from the “big 3” states.

Freeze, spot on regarding India being a one trick bowling pony whereas we had 3/4 good solid pace bowlers where at least 1 popped up to take 4+ wickets. Boland was nearly on a par with Bumrush with 20 wickets from just 3 tests, he will be a weapon against the Pommes and will be a first pick going forward.

Cummins captaincy was very good given the team was under huge pressure at times in every test but he and the team never lost their cool, apart from the Perth test where they were pretty underdone.

Had a look at a couple of online chats and the munchers have quickly turned on Virusrat, “too combative, well past his prime, not playing in the true spirit etc etc” Ya just gotta smile

Lance Morris would have been more than a handful on that track but with Paddy running the show, no chance of his bowling mates missing out.

I have only watched a couple of games this season because Lance Morris was playing in them - both times he belted in spells reaching the 148kmh as an average speed , duly some balls were over the 150kmh easily
but his treatment by the selectors has been nothing short of shit to be honest - this is a rare talent who can terrorise batsmen with sheer brute pace & bounce

Agree Southy. I think there will also be several other fast bowlers who will miss out completely on test experience because the selectors don’t have the foresight to rotate quicks throughout a series.

The sight of Starc struggling with a back injury in Sydney made it even more obvious that they should give incumbents a rest to help prolong their careers, but also develop a conga line of quicks to take over when the time comes.

Boland had a terrific test but at 35, surely they could have given someone else a go.

well Bozoley & his blinkered mate Duddemaide will see a quintet of Rabada , Nortje , Jansen , Maphaka & Bosch among others who will seriously depthcharge our Grandfathers in June BC
I am a bit stunned at how much our selector base has badly deteriorated to the point where our cricket is a totally closed affair where no-one gets a look in unless you’re either a NSW wanker or a Victorian cockhead

BC, sadly at 35, Boland’s body seems more 5 day trustworthy than younger fast bowling bods in Richardson, Morris, Bartlett, Johnson and even Paris.

In a one off WTC test, of course the Aussie selectors are going to roll out the likes of Starc, Hazlewood, and Boland…cant see any bowling changes bar injury TBH…frustrating yes, but a fact of life.

Freez, that’s because Boland only played 3 tests. You can’t tell me that in a 5 test series, Starc, Hazlewood and even Cummins couldn’t have been rested for a test each and the likes of Morris, Richo and say Abbot couldn’t have stepped into the frame.

The whole structure needs to be looked at so when we have a home Test series such as the one just completed, Sheffield Shield should go on as well and replacement players for the Test team get some decent 4 day action before being elevated.

For Richo and Morris to sit in the sheds for a couple of months and only be released to play the odd Shield or BBL game is nonsense. Geoff Lawson made the same point this week that these guys lose match fitness and if/when eventually called up, are prone to injury because they haven’t played enough cricket.

Totally agree BC…I am all for more Shield cricket running alongside a test series and rotation of the bowlers, makes perfect sense. Starc should of bailed out after Brisbane, bringing in Richo, Paris, Morris or Bartlett.

Problem is Aust has only lost one red ball series out of 11 under Paddy, so on their thinking, why change a winning formula…but succession definitely needs to happen and fast…

The door is open for Jhye Richardson and others for the tour of Sri Lanka with Josh Hazelwood being ruled out.
