There must have been troubles on the waflonline stats page once again today as freeze normally has his match report in by now!!
Cant wait to read this one as it was a cracking day down at Antique Park.
Your opinion on Riggio & Davis’s games for Swans today freeze??

good win by SD yesterday, geez Geappen seems to enjoy playing down at Moss St, kicking 6 out of SD first 9 goals, christ if he goes down, then SD will be looking deep into their reserves for a replacement and I mean BHP drilling deep!!..
yeah day looked good until half time of the league BH, colts and reserves win to the home side…I guess Riggio and Davis played as well as Robbie Young did for EF…but that’s life…I see Tyler, Matty and Dayle had good workouts in the reserves BH, hopefully all three boys will get a league run soon…enjoy the win boys you guys obviously deserved it…well done to young Murray on his 4 goals, obviously he didn’t have to run more than 2km to kick them!!
I’m still trying to get over a rank cold pie I ate from there canteen if you can call it that a joint like that makes you appreciate basso so much more bring on the first home game!!!

Is that it freeze??
Not quite up to your usual standards in fact about 100 words & 200 full stops short of your normal standard wrap from last year!!
Oh well I guess we will have to wait til Old Easts first win of the year in the next round to read a more thorough match report!
Umpires were rubbish and took away some of the gloss from a good game. This is a massive win away against strong opposition and we have to win these ones as EF will be one side we will be meeting if we make finals.
BH, EF will be lucky to win many games this year without a decent target up front, so I guess you may be waiting a while for a match report mate…yeah first game of the year I know, but same old same old with EF forward line…too much reliance on smaller forwards, always will struggle against sides with decent backs, especially taller ones too!..
…couldn’t agree more about your Ibbo comment on the EF thread, that guy is as as soft as Riggio’s eye socket apparently…please don’t tell me Brennan fractured Matty’s eye socket?..Brennan is built like a twig and as soft as butter…the sooner Ibbo and Brennan are playing AFL the better I say!
Anyway, wrap that boy Timmy G up in cotton woo though…he’s the key to any form of success SD have this year…
Any thoughts freeze on the 5 debutants Swans played yesterday against the AFL laden Old Easts???
Or maybe an opinion on the fact Swans had virtually no bench after qtr time with Riggio & Davis in hospital, a couple of others staying on the park with injuries & Hilda & Jetta crook as a dog at 3 qtr time (maybe they ate one of those cold pies from the EF canteen before the game) in the huddle in energy sapping 35 degree heat!!
No doubt Rob Young going down was the single biggest factor in the game from your vantage point!!

Unfortunately Young is very important to us in that he plays as a KP forward (where we do struggle) and helps out in the ruck (where we struggle). Sadldy missed after only 10 mins into the game.
“Virtually no bench after qtr time”??? When did Riggio leave the ground? Not in the 1st qtr!!! Who were the others with such crippling injures who were forced back onto the park??? We were allowed 5 on the bench yesterday weren’t we? Hilda & Jetta crook as dogs at 3 qtr time. Poor buggers they must of been the only ones who ate cold pies in 35 degree heat…
Disappointing not to see hardly any SD supporters in the Shark Pit yesterday. Perhaps they didn’t want a repeat of the nightmare from the prelim last year.
Good win as said before. Suck it up and we’ll see you at Basso in Rnd 23.
BH, I couldn’t give two sheets who SD debut and who they don’t…if you had 5 debutants, then kudos to Harding. BH, if the likes of Geappen had gone down early into the 1st quarter and SD lost a game by 2 goals you and Swandog would be one of the first saying what about Timmy getting injured?..so unlucky or perhaps that fave old SD chestnut in - those bleedin maggots raped us again…just as you are saying now SD should of won by more but ‘we had no bench’…mate if you think Ibbo and Brennan are quality mate, please be my guest then in the return match…
Got no probs in saying SD were far far better than EF on the day…rather you have this day and EF have another day in the finals V SD…saying that without a key target up front EF will be working very hard to get to the finals…EF have been stupid in not recruiting a mature back up to Young…gotta feeling they reckon Griff will be around and abouts for EF this year…big mistake that…can’t believe we wait so long till EF meet SD again…shite mate I’m gonna miss our banter…round 23 seems like a life time away…
Great game yesterday and good to get the season started on a good note. Over team that was dominated by AFL listed players. Well Done Swans!
I’m only concerned with our ruck stocks - Lammie, Blakey then… we go to Ames?
We might end up having to use McKinlay or Nuich from the Ressies if we are in some trouble come second half of the season.
Have we got any injury updates on Riggio & Davis?
Jacob Brennan is nothing like his old man was, dirty mug! And it wasn’t a good idea to poke Riggio in the eye in front of all the Swans supporters. He copped a barrel! That won’t win him an Eagles spot.

Rory Lobb has been excelling in the reserves so far this year so he’d probably be next in. After that you might look at pushing Notte in there and bringing in another forward, or throwing Simmo forward with Howard and Latch going back.
Freeze FYI Swoop Geappen went into the game with an injury & still kicked a lazy 6 ..imagine if he had played fully fit!!
Rock Riggio was injured early in the 2nd qtr after having 15 possessions in that time so I would say he was a fair loss to the Swans midfield wouldnt you say?
MOM Riggio has a suspected fractured eye socket, hopefully Brennan has been reported or we should lodge a NOI with the WAFL!
Turtle Cameron is from Newman I am told, looked very good on debut hope he can continue that sort of form.
Agreed and number 69, Cary, shows some promise also. A top shelf win by the mighty black and whites - just the start we would have wished for. Kudos for Newman on a classy performance given the bizarre decision by the Eagles to not allow him to play any of the pre-season games - we wouldn’t want to assist him in getting match fitness would we?
Now we wait 6 months virtually to play East Freo again!!!

Harding playing players with injuries. Mmmmmmmmmmm??? Good luck if he ever goes down.

MOM Riggio has a suspected fractured eye socket, hopefully Brennan has been reported or we should lodge a NOI with the WAFL!..the sooner the better I say…Brennan is average at best, a 10 week suspension would suit me nicely thanks

Gee waiting to play each other again till round 23 is shit fixturing.
I must say playing injured players in the 1st game of the season sounds like a tricky move ? Maybe the coach thinks Swans forward line is stuffed with-out him ???
Anyway a good win by Swans - looking at the line-ups before the game I would have tipped the Sharks by 5-10 goals.
Every time the Sharks line-up looks unstoppable they get rolled. I feel pissed off and i’m not even a Sharks supporter - Something ain’t right.
Stavros must be ripping what hair he has left out after games like that ???
The Sharks and Stavros may be better off after the AuFL players leave the club next season and the team that lines up trains together each week ???
I just can’t work it out.
I wasn’t at the game - were the Sharks out coached ???
