A good story.
He could certainly play.I remember watching him warm up in the rooms before the games at Fremantle oval.He would spar with Laurie Flanders.He would be glowing in perspiration as he ran onto the ground.And all this after a morning lumping bale of wool on the wharf.
With out doubt the best player I have seen.
There was also a great article about the TI and Bomber a few weeks ago.Made good reading.
I guess it depends on which side of Fremantle you come from as to which was the best player.Both were greats of our great game.
