Season promotion - wow can you believe it the WAFC have actually done something

dear friend it is the damned if you don’t here and has been for many years - the WAFC have had the means & reason to do this many years ago - it would have been about 15 years or so ago that the WAFC put it on the clubs themselves to promote and at the time there were many clubs who voiced strong concern around that given the dwindling funds , these funds have since been cut into as well

Agree Southerner but also agree with Grump, at least they are finally doing something on the promo side, so lets see how that works out before condemning them. But the price increases and the hopeless website are just lazy management.

Could not have said it any better Southerner. Your comments on this topic are spot on. And yes SS, this damned commission has been very lazy!

Biggest thing for me is the decision to reduce the number of footy budgets available of match day. As it was if you didn’t rock up until just before or just after the game started you usually missed out on a budget. Going to have to make sure the phone is fully charged.to get through the game looking at your screen to see the eBudget.

At this stage, going by the WAFL website, 4 of the 5 Round 1 games BROADCASTER NOT AVAILABLE. The Grand Final rematch you can stream through the AFL App. This is all that the WAFL/WAFC are prepared to reveal for the moment. It may be they are just too busy or they simply see no point in providing information to the few remaining fans.

According to my TV on set guide - West Perth v Claremont - Friday 1-30pm - Channel 7

Sounds like the story could be true.

It was reported last year the live streamed Wafl matches were being canned in the not too distant future. And they would be put behind a pay-wall instead.
Which was a very disappointing news article to hear!
The live streamed matches last season were a bit clunky and bumpy Although watchable and a good idea..
Just hoping no-one stuffs the live streamed matches up!
But in our so called ‘modern day and age’ the bureaucracy and officialdom will probably stuff the free live streams up too!

They finally got around to updating website. All games (except South Freo and the Eagles) streaming through AFL App. Joondalup and Claremont get the Channel 7 treatment. So seems like, until now, they had just been too busy to let let anyone know what was going!

the wafl website is showing the sf v wc game is streaming on afl app

It’s great to see the commission advertising local footy.
But the Wafl app has crashed, round 1 Good Friday.Has been down for a number of hours.
No live scores or stats coming through. Not a great start to the season.

Happened to our league scratch match last week too which I emailed them about. The line-ups were there but not the team list and scores which in scratchies are only shown at the end of the game anyway, but everything was displayed for the reserves.

If it’s not working today then that’s a disgrace.

I think basically this will serve to be our budget going forward but for those who like to bring a biro and write down the scores that’s a problem. Perhaps the digital version can be downloaded as a writable PDF file?

It’s easily printed but doesn’t have the right feel about it

DD my understanding is. That it costs around $5000 a second. To advertise on the Channel 7 news.
So a 30 second add costs around $150,000 dollars. They ran the Ad 3 times during the 7 news.
That’s $450,000 they spent on advertising last night. But forgot to get the tech to repair there website, during the week.

today the WAFL website was up to it’s usual standard of crashing or timing out when pages loaded
so much for the nice cheesy advertising campaign repetitively telling everyone to go WAFL online
it’s a scrooge’s website

Yes, so much for our supposedly you beaut "modern day and age!.
