S. Stubbs

Can anyone confirm what is going on with Sam
Stubbs? Not on injury list and not named in the magoos for the last few weeks. To my knowledge his last game of footy was a few weeks ago out in Kal. Has he walked away?

His girlfriend said she wouldn’t go out with a reserves player.

Look like Stubbs has signed with Mines Rovers. Along with Ben Stubbs.

Weak as in my opinion.
It seems these days that some borderline league players can’t handle being dropped to the ressies.

According to Brad Dodd.
Has retired from WAFL, currently in Kalgoorlie, but apparently heading for the Gold Coast.
With the influx of Derksen and Paton not sure he would get a league game.
Had some talent but IMHO didn’t work hard enough when he didn’t have the ball.

Sam Stubbs was a great club man both on and off the field. He stuck with the club during some of the leanest times any club has endured and gave all Perth supporters a hint of optimism and excitement during those very lean times. We should all be very grateful for his faith and his contribution to the Perth Football Club.

Yes possibly but also wanted out when he got cut from Freo’s train on and has been the third senior player who has walked this year after obviously told that a league spot is not guaranteed. I am disappointed in him, Cogs and Clarke. Not that dissimilar to Cooly last year

I am a firm believer that Stone has got it right.
Long term we need to change the way we develop our young players.
The ones that have emerged in the last 2 years will hold us in good stead.

Same thing happened at EF when Bill rolled in. New standards are set and those that haven’t had to meet those previously find it hard. Coniglio has gone to Swans to only play Reserves in a team that is struggling- odd.

Stubbs has been unfit for 2-3 years (in the times I saw him v EF). No surprise he was on the outer- pity- had some talent

Yep none of the three that have left were going to take us forward Stoney is investing in young players. If we had more depth of talent there would be others struggling to get a game in the magoos.
