What is with all the defensiveness from the Freo folk here about Lyon?
If i were one I would be happy for the bloke to take his boring defensive 8 goals a game average game plan on to another poor unfortunate Vic club!

If you bothered to watch Freo games you would know that the new game plan is completely different, that’s why we are conceding so many goals if anything he’s gone the other way, gotta laugh when oeople call Ross Lyon boring have a look at the % of Saints teams when he was there consistently kicking twenty goals a game, and that happened because he had a good toward structure.
Anyway I’m only defending Ross because some Ranga in the media got caught out bullshitting, and MO he has a no out clause in his contract I think that’s already been said by him and the CEO that’s why the rumour is a load of crap although it would be the best thing to happen to Collingwood in years.
he is a good coach of a good team, until he gets a good team he will put up the rubbish he has put up this year.
he better hope his recruiters can find another Reiwoldt or Pavlich to help his game plan that has Ballantyne trying to beat 3 guys on the wing to get the ball inside 50 to nobody.
he only came to Freo as he lost a 7 figure sum in an investment disaster, no loyalty with him so will move on to his next deal when it suits him.
PN, don’t worry, the haters will hate no matter what. They will , like Hardie, make up shit to suit themselves. They repeat it often enough, in their mind it is true.
Really I reckon when we won five out six game early on the year we played good attacking footy doubling our win ratio in a rebuilding year looks pretty good to me, lol MO you would die for a coach like Lyon at the Pies.
Anyway it besides the point and goint off topic which you Swans guys cried about when Freezin,Tos and Bazza stunk up the Swans site.
Ross Lyon was the bloke who on one hand had his management negotiating a deal with St Kilda to extend his contract while at the same time he himself without his management knowing was dealing directly with Freo to get a bigger deal.
hardly the bloke to be the moral police on Brad Hardie.
would think he has bigger issues to worry about than Brad Hardie and was a nicely timed deflection from the weekend’s result.
PN - I dont follow Collingwood, dont have an AFL team, just a WAFL team.
Interesting. So how do you rate Swans legend John Todd who had negotiated and verbally agreed to a deal to coach Perth in 1984 but asked the then Perth president George Spalding not to announce it until he told the Swans players of his decision, only to reneg on the deal and stay with Swans probably for more money? And what about Todd Curley exactly the same. You are saying coaches don’t have the right to make the best financial decision for them and their family? If Fremantle were in the eight this topic would never have seen the light of day.
And when Ross has been asked a couple of times if he will serve out his contract he’s given the same answer. I will keep coaching Fremantle as long as they want me.
I could be wrong but from memory Lyon wanted a 3 year extension and StK only offered 2…Freo came calling with a long term contract and given he had an out clause in his contract with StK took Freo’s offer and ran. I personally don’t blame him one little bit as there’s only 2 types of coaches…one’s that have been sacked and those who are about to.
he was contracted for 2012, the St Kilda board agreed to a 3 year extension to take him through to 2015.
Freo offered more money and he needed the money as was broke.

Interesting.
Now,can anyone remember what Malcolm Gregory Brown had to say about Toddy and why he backed out the way he did?
Carefull!!It does involve the Father of our Current Coach,so I’m not too keen to rake over still hot Coals! But if you’re going to have a go at Toddy, just to get back at Mark Olsen, best to know who exactly was at Fault for his Non Coaching Role at Perth and Why?
As for TC,who do you blame?Him or Msrty?B)
Saint Kilda would not sit and talk with Lyon over his contract. He asked many times to get some clarification, but they would not come to the table.
Not Lyons fault if they wouldn’t negotiate with him.

yep, that’s how I recall it and don’t forget freo actually had a coach at the time who they arsed in dubious circumstances, but its business and as you say Lyon was all about the quids so he went for it.
Anchorman - this article outlines the offer was on the table from the Saints.
Freo knew his financial circumstances and offered the big bucks and Lyon took the offer from Freo which he was entitled to do but it only about money for him which is fine.

Coaches, including Mark Harvey, sack players they don’t consider good enough so it follows that a footy board also reserves the right to sack the coach. Mark Harvey was Freo’s coach when Luke Pratt was de-listed after only one year at Freo.
See this is what happens when you come in half cocked he hasn’t got an out clause Lyon has stated this a couple of times, and lol at the Age who are these sources the Age has MO are they the same ones Fanta Pants has ?.
