sad to read of his passing here in WA a few days ago
one of the hardest hitting batsmen I ever saw
that front foot square cut of his was the equal of Greenidge & Richards for sheer power
rest in peace mate you gave us a few headaches that’s for sure

Very sad news. He was speaking at the Perth test only a week ago about the battles he has been going through. RIP and condolences to his family and friends

Smith was that stand and deliver sort…sad to hear he had his denons…always came across as quiet and unassuming…until bat in hand…enjoyed watching him play
Gee he was one of few English batsman who troubled our bowlers for 20 years from 1989.
Hard hitting cut shots were his specialty.
Played at South Perth for a time and his brother Chris was CEO at the WACA in the 90s.
Very sad news. He was a very good player for England.
Rest peacefully.
Rest In Peace,Robin.
