Perth v Swans away

I see this as danger game. We need to keep our noses in front of the predators behind us. Hopefully Schlensog is available.

Byrne will still be unavailable. Kohlmann will pose a big threat if he is fit to play.

Yep, Swannies are undermanned this year.
Important we don’t throw it away.
I’m sure we won’t.

Rumblings are a key position out

Is that due to injury?

Simpson, Edwards & Thorne out.

Edwards out is a blow, but offset by the return of Schlensog. Bit rough on Thorne - hasn’t got a lot of it but uses it well. Simpson and Edwards are not named on the injury list - maybe being managed? Moore and Watson have had very average stats in the reserves and I have no idea whyTBH continues to be in the frame for selection. From the interchange, I’d go with Kemp and Della, but the other two are a lottery. I’d like to see R Clarke have a run in the reserves, but he may need to come straight in. If we can manage a win with a depleted line up, it will stand us in good stead going into the bye - 7 wins from 10 games, with Byrne and Edwards set to return.

Yes Edwards is a big blow.
I thought his game against Willi9ams last week was superb.
He is growing in stature IMHO.

I was told on Saturday he’s been playing injured so probably giving him a rest and I’d say same for Simpson being managed which given his short history with us is wise.

As for Thorne I believe training is a problem. Hopefully the club can come to some sort of an arrangement because he’s a very talented player otherwise another club will swoop and we know who. We cannot afford to lose talent.

I see Thorne as a valuable addition.
I rate him as probably the best small forward (I see Paton as a medium forward) with additional midfield attributes as well.
His skills are exceptional.
Maybe it’s a logistical problem rather than the usual laziness problem.
Hope we can find a solution for him.

Fleiner to debut. Another from West Perth by the look. Anyone know his usual possie? Interesting that Swans didn’t play Coniglio in the League team. He would have had a major point to prove and probably would play well. Thats’ 2 or 3 weeks ressies for him at Swans. Should have stayed with us

We have to hold Thorne to the same training standards as everyone else. Meanwhile, I must say I am surprised that Fleiner and Watson have been included on the back on what would appear to be some very forgettable stats in the reserves. Clarke is straight back in, along with MacLean and Kemp on the bench. A win v SD would go a long way towards securing finals, With PT and WP playing SF and C respectively next week, we have a chance to go into the last 8 games of the year 3-4 games clear.

Agree Ted I think the club has to get creative to try and get him involved in some role at the club or employment nearby that makes it easy for him to come to training 3 nights a week.

I spent many years as a taxi driver and Uber driver and I can tell you Kwinana freeway is a nightmare both ways. If he’s traveling say at 4pm in the arvo to get to training he will encounter bumper to bumper traffic around Cockburn. Would probably get off at either Leach or Canning Hwy. In all honesty it would be easier and less stressful to get the train. The Armadale line still runs to Vic Park station. Maybe about 750m to 1k walk from there to Lathlain.

Edwards out with stress fractures and Simpson is out with an ankle injury. Trying to see the positives Sam isn’t out with another soft tissue injury. Both listed as round 12 so available after the bye. Let’s see.

Our complete and absolute lack of depth in the ruck will be tested over the next month with Eddo out.

Agree, rednblack, we are being tested. The guys rucking in the reserves, Luers and Fairbank, are only 191cm. I said a couple of times we should be looking to get some late recruits, especially with Clark, Cogs, Broadbent and Stubbs walking out, but it doesn’t seem that is likely.

STRESS FRACTURE - bloody hell - Johnston has been out all year and most of preseason with a Stress Fracture.

If it’s the Perth I have seen for the last 17-18 years - they will get belted today. A win today really shows we may have turned the corner though.

I’m playing @ 240 myself and will check the result after my game. If we win can someone let me know where we are celebrating and I will be there.

I understand why Perth fans would be pessimistic. Basso has not been a happy hunting ground and we are depleted. However, the pattern of the season has been that we have accounted for the bottom 5 teams pretty comfortably. We should have some confidence that we have enough class to get over SD. We can rely on 60 disposals from Constable and Parfitt. Paton, Clarke and Derksen have kicked 55 goals between them, while Scoble, Taylor and Sing are always solid down back. I’d like to see a bit more from Randall and Davis today, but it would be a poor reflection of our depth if we can’t cover the loss of Byrne, Edwards and Simpson against a team that has struggled.

Della not playing reserves. Not on the injury list. Is there a late change in the league?

Our defence is faarkin putrid wtf is Poole doing is he still suffering from concussion?

This is the next area where our club has to put work in, recruit sone decent defenders if they want to take next step.

Just got home from my game. fantastic to see the W against the Dees. Going in 7 and 3 to the bye would have them feeling fantastic. McLean kicked two nice. Paton again doing well - what a find. Clarke back to form. Modest numbers from Regan but thats fair on a return. Interesting Scobes only had 3 disposals but same for Kohlman. Lots or hitouts from Schlensog. How did our debutant go.
Any report on the Ressies?
