Perth v Subi Round 8 ‘26

Just kicking off the thread, awaiting League Team Selections,…..

Certainly going to be a good match. Both teams out wanting to win this one. Weather is looking alright. Could be a bit of rain on Sunday apparently.

Never thought I would say this.

Nice to have Johnston back.

I’m surprised that Luers has stayed in, even with Johnston back. There must be something the match committee sees in Luers that is lost on me. Maybe we are looking to stretch Subi for height. However, Subi will be looking to stretch us for pace, and no doubt will have taken note of how easily we were opened once SD started running hard and playing direct. Without significant improvement from a host of under performing players, Subi have to be strong favourites. They have been competitive in every game, in fact, three of their four losses have been by 3 points. They don’t fall away like we have in 3 of our losses.

Should be a great battle between Clarke and Blight, plus Clark and Constable, if the latter two go head to head. Perth should really take advantage of a few of those important Subi outs…..Perth by 5 goals

Luers 0.3 last week says it all. Stupid 40m run-up after a great mark 15m out. Then takes pop shots on the run from deep in the pockets without even considering looking for other options. Must be a thousand games of playing/coaching experience in the group isn’t anyone coaching his kicking technique?

The Schofield factor on Subi.

Biggest turnaround in his Lions most likely stems on putting pressure on the opposition, when they don’t have the ball.

So we have to Crank that factor up ourselves and use the ball better more consistently.

It was 50 meters earlier on in the season so the 40 meter run up is an improvement.

On a positive note- his marking is excellent and he is still young.

Bodle not playing ressies or on the injury list - ? Another Hill

Another misprint or no print maybe?

This is a game we should win easily given Subiaco’s misfortune losing Borchett and Sokol who both always play well against us and losing their young ruckman to the 18’s. Wish I could say I was confident of a good win but after last week……

Schofield WILL Ramp the Pressure on us,moreso after seeing what happened last week and for him,old times for Subi against us.

Despite what happened last year between the 2 Teams,he’ll DRILL IT into his players that SUBI OWN PERTH!!!

SO WE REALLY NEED TO STEP UP,FOR 4 QUARTERS!

Late change. Roberts in for Luers just his second league game after debuting in the loss to Claremont in the 1st semi last year. Rate this kid.

Yep,so do I.

Good fella to talk to,mature beyond his youth.

I didn’t realise how young he was until a few yarns later.

Hope we get some good, long years out of his Football Career.

Roberts gives us some more speed. We looked top heavy with Luers. Where has been playing in the reserves? His numbers have been very low apart from last week.

On a different note, I see WCER are fielding 18 listed players, plus one Cat B rookie. A lot of them, like Miles-Wrency, Barnett and Hall, are not barely WAFL level players, but I wonder if that is the highest number of AFL players ever fielded?

That’s a bit odd Luers is not injured, he’s playing reserves. It’s not like conditions have changed since Thursday night.

Some Fixtures probably changed quicker,……

What’s the fixture got to do with it.

Just a little joke,Cess.

In case you hadn’t noticed this week,a few things in WAFL seem to change quicker,….

Luers only came in last week because Johnno was a late out. I like the ins Roberts helps cover Hine-Baston loss and Hallett is a talent. Luers didn’t make the most of his opportunities last week which is a regular problem for him.
