Perth Glory on a roll

5 on the trot last night after a fairly convincing 3 - 0 win over Adelaide. All the strikers have found their form and causing the opposition a few headaches. Big test yet to come with Asia Cup commitments and a couple of away games next up against Wanderers and City.

Maybe pay Sydney back this year as it looks like they are going to win the premiers plate. Glory could then go to Sydney and knock them off in the GF. Ah well! we can always dream.

Come back from the dead, could this be another stadium GF?

Can’t see that happening Baz. Perth would have to win every game almost and rely on Sydney dropping at least 4 or 5 games and they’ve only lost one and drawn one. If they win the PP and make the GF it will be played in Sydney but then again at which stadium? SCG or one of the rugby stadiums?

What Sydney Venue are they using now?

Sydney FC are currently using Kogarah Oval (St George nrl).
They would probably use the newly rebuilt Parramatta (Bankwest) Stadium for a GF.

It could happen if Sydney get knocked out in week 2 of the finals and Perth win theirs and goes through to the GF as the highest placed qualifier…but that’s a big IF.

Parramatta only holds 30k, piss poor.

30k is more than enough for Sydney as nrl and a-league crowds rarely get above 10k outside of GFs & S.O.O.

Im talking for a a league grand final

6 on the trot now after a 1-nil win over WSW, shame Joel Chianese was ruled offside by the barest of margins in what was a great finish.

Can’t believe Mark Bosnich saying he believed a Wanderers goal ruled a handball after a VAR review was not handball in his opinion. Clearly came off the guys arm and he extentended his shoulder out.

Was clearly more obvious than the one Chianese was charged with a few weeks ago against Newcastle which was in the oppositions half of the pitch to play the ball down and several passes later Glory goaled which would have made it 7 goals to 2.

Clear eastern states bias again.

Yep…it wasn’t a pretty win but 3 points in the bank nonetheless. As for their non-goal it was obviously off the arm…the commentators picked it, the VAR saw it and the ref agreed. Hopefully start getting a few back from injury in the next couple of weeks as they’re going to need to with Asian CL coming up.

could end up better tnan last year at this rate.

I see Ikonomides has done an ACL and is gone for a year…bugger :frowning:

He has been relegated to the bench of late with Chianese taking his spot, but yes not ideal.

It probably means he’ll be with us for a few more years now. Probably not ideal timing for Chris Harold. Just asked to be released to pursue more opportunities and a day or two after signing with the Mariners an opportunity arises at the Glory. That’s life.

Yes…I guess we’ll see more fringe players like Harold moving on if Poppa keeps playing his sons in front of them.
