Perth Demons V Mandurah Dockers

Perth Demons V Mandurah Dockers

This is how the match should be marketed.

No AFL game on the day.

Lets see how much support the dockers are going to put into this alignment concept.

Ross Lyon, Sandilands, Mayne, Johnston, Muzungu, Balintine, Moribtto and the like should and probably will be there.

Us Perth supporters should tell all our West Coast friends to come along and watch us overrun the Mandurah Dockers and tell our Freo friends to come along and watch the up and comers of the Freo Dockers.

Should aim for 5000 at the game.

All bring a hat water and sunnys though. It’s going to be hot.

Anyone with any pull at the club - get some shade cloth over the Pen Please.

2000 Perth supporters
1000 Peel supporters
3000 Freo supporters (No AFL games on. Would normally aim for 1000)

6000

Would love to see that many there but honestly I reckon we’ll be lucky to get 2000-2500!

Will be lucky to get 1500! but who really cares and who cares how its marketed.
Im more worried about getting a first up victory against the reigning wooden spooners and a team that hasnt won a scratchie this pre-season.

A loss for us and it will probably set the tone for whats to come for the year.

Whatever the crowd size it will be 95% Perth supporters. Thunder fans don’t go to the footy.

Even if there is only 1500 perth supporters we should give them a grand welcome.

Lets make sure their ears are ringing all the way home!

All of us could bring 5 freo friends if you sell it right.

thats

5 times $15 entry $75
5 times $20 (4 beers each) $100

If 200 of us do this thats

200 times $175 = $35K to our club

And ivé always had you down for a tool, i couldn’t care less if we only get 1200 to the game this club more importantly needs to start off the season with a win.

I’ll keep an eye out for you Peter North. I am disappointed that you haven’t let me know where my posts have touched your sensibilities before.

My thoughts are 1200 spectators at a game each week see no club left in 10 years time.

Would you care to elaborate on why you don’t care if there are only 1200 at the game? Perhaps you have something up your sleeve to keep this WAFL going with attendances such as you accept. I am sure it would be most enlightening.

Exactly what i’m saying PN,a win in front of 50 people is more important to this footy club than a loss in front of 6000.

Time for a flag you overthink on a lot of subjects, while you mean well..think more about how we can win and win on a regular basis because thats better than any marketing tool and will put more bums on seats.

30+ just get 5 friends along and don’t talk nonsense about being happy with 50 people at the game.

The club has the ability to work on two fronts.

BTW, I have in no way implied that I would be happy for a gallant loss.

TFAF I am not sure that we have a lot to worry about on the attendance front.

Our attendance figures are not the best in the league but I think you will find they are healthy.

You are correct we do need to do some marketing to make sure that we take advantage of all the opportunities. Particularly given that we have an Anzac day game this year.

Liz Bradley was very good at it. And I am not saying sack Marty and get Liz back because Liz lacked footy smarts. But what I am saying we could take a leaf out of her book and do more in that area.

That could also be difficult given our restriction on staff numbers.

Gee isn’t it a fine line trying to balance the needs of a footy club with the resources available.

I would like to see us as the most successful in terms of games won and supporters involved. Our attendances are better than Peel,Subiaco, Claremont and East Freo (if you take their derbys out). I would like better than that. Swans are the only club working on two fronts. Their third front should be financial stability.

HF:O’Sullivan+ - Reimers - Moody+

F:Donovan - Stack - Bateman*

Folowers
Murray^
Beven+

Interchange
1)Leyendekkers^
2)Fry
3)Ash Smith ?
4a)Stuart or White if Mandurah small
4b)Fit tall if Mandurah tall

To come in
Eyers, Irones, Billings, Houghton,Lesson, Ransted, Deves, White, Stuart, Risol, Rowling (i don’t know these two playes), Chrimes and Busher

I think throw McInnes at full back and Ali Smith at back pocket until Billings and Houghton fit because.

 1. We need the height
 2. It will be great for their development as a forward. (yes i am serious)

No way…Reimers CHF???nup.
Our midfield is not the best as it is and you would have Ali Smith in a back pocket…no way, total waste.
McIness at CHF no ifs or buts.

Since when has O’Sullivan been a goal kicker???Any half forward has to be capable of kicking goals and be a little flamboyant,OSullivan is not a forward…full stop!!

Florio for mine is not mentally nor physically tough enough for half back.

Your lineup will not come close to how the side will be on Saturday, for starters you have too many players playing out of position and in positions that they will be no use to the team!

Yes Houghton will have to show big improvment this year in the Reserves first.
McIness at CHF no ifs or buts. McInnes has done nothing in the Scratch matches.

I can’t see it looking anything like that either. No chance McInnes will play full back. We’ve hardly got a tall forward so why would he play there?

With respect TFAF I can’t see us lining up anywhere near your suggestions.
I don’t think that any AFL listed players will be released this week so,IMO, we will look more like the following:

FB Holland Risol Kane
HB Jacobs Johnston Tedesco
C Florio O’Sullivan Moody
HF Stack Deaves Bevan
FF Donovan Fry Reimers

FOL Murray Ali Smith Bateman

INT Sketcher Hodge Leyendekers Hug

EMERG Mather Richardson
Forward line looks weak but no other options that I can see.
Deaves can go down back if need be while Johnston or Risol can go forward.
