Ongoing Drama with Venues West........AGAIN!!!

Here we go again with the Subi crap on another thread!

There are certain people on this site who have the amazing skill to be able to turn any unrelated subject into a Subi thing. Bag us when ever you want but do it on a Subi thread … water off a ducks back.

Loopy made reference to our seats deal Grump and last time I looked he was a jerker supporter…so if they want to derail a thread on their own site then that’s their choice.

Sit tight, Raponi running for a seat in the Northern Suburbs, if he gets in he will shake up those tools in a heart beat.

Is that some sort of a joke, he was the one that was at the helm when you went bust.

Surprised he can show his ugly mutt in public.

Loopy…explain to me how the Subi seats deal was tax payer funded given they had to buy the seats from the WAFC and on-sell them the same as WCE and Freo had to do.

BC were you not ‘gifted’ the Subiaco Members Area seats in the 2 Tier Stand pocket at Subiaco Oval, the ones with the signage up Subiaco Members Only in maroon & gold?
[/quote]

That goes back to the deal to remove the old Subiaco Stands, including the Municipal Statnd and the small SFC Pavillion that pre dated the 2 tier, you may be to young to remember but I remember it well. when they were demolised the Subi Town Council WAFL and SFC all came to agreement that SFC could have members seating in the new 2 tier stand as compensation to replace the old ones.

The cost to construct the 2 tier was however born by the WAFL with some contributions from the Subi Town Council but mainly WAFL, which ended up with a 1 Million dollar debt which by 1989 was killing the WAFL in interest and basically sent them broke once IP Pty Ltd feel over.

In the end the WA Gov bailed them out paid off the debt and refinanced via the WAFC, and organsied the free long term lease of the oval, So subi surfed along keeping the seats and doing deals at not much cost - the rest as they say is history.

You lot are unbelievable, who built the Stadium ??? tax payers did. The ground never belonged to the $FC, much like we never owned Leederville oval. Im going to turn the table here a bit and use one of the common $ubi supporter come backs generally in response to your underhanded player payment dealings, “PROVE IT”. Prove that you purchased the seats at $ubi ??? Because from many reports the seats were given to the club for a 5 year period for compensation for moving and it went on for another 15 years.
I will try to dig up a 91.3 Sport FM Harvey Deegan interview who spoke with a fella that sat on the ruling committee for the seating arrangement deal and he explained quite confidently that it was a scam of the highest order and said it was a case of “who you know, not what you know”.

Raponi was not President when they went bust.
Former SDFC CEO Scott Ballem was Pres.

You will find East Perth and Perth moving to the WACA while Subiaco and West Perth share Leederville Oval.

You’ll then find HBF Arena being sold to Joondalup council with the proceeds to make HBF Stadium/WAIS a huge elite athlete sporting precinct.

Really hope that happens.

Yep raponi bailed , but he was there while the money was being drained and they debts accrued..

Raponi was President from 2009 -2016.

WP move out of Joondalup? after $8 mill plus of tax payers money was spent building their clubrooms? Dont want to see that money poured down the drain on top of the WP bailout money.

It may prove to be a better solution if West Perth relocate particularly if it is better financially - but I cannot see this occurring just yet as there aren’t many options available for the planning of such a move
The WACA hasn’t been forthcoming and it would leave Lathlain as a shared option for maybe East Perth or West Perth as co-tenants to Perth

The most simplistic way forward is for $ubi to hand over our share of the 20 years of seat allocations for the corporates to park their arses, drink and eat on a tax payers venue

Would that be the same venue on which we received the compensation you’re referring to for giving up a 99++ year lease?
