Not sure how accurate this but there was a whisper that part of the process saw some loss of control for the Club over the facilities and this was or is a bit of a sticking point.

It would be great for your club and the surrounds to have facilities that encouraged more activity in the ara and thus more folks at the ground, good luck and I hope the ‘traditionlists’ don’t cause a stall in the process.

I know this subject has been discussed in length already but for those who missed this last week!!!

Brownes Stadium at Lathlain Park has emerged as a clear frontrunner as the favoured site for West Coast’s next elite training facility.

_The West Australian _understands the Eagles and Town of Victoria Park are working towards a heads of agreement that would set a framework for the conditions under which the Eagles would move to the ground, home to the Perth Football Club.

It is expected that a final decision on the site for the Eagles facility will be made by the end of August.

It is likely the Eagles could then be in their new premises by 2017, a year before the new stadium at Burswood is completed and a year after Fremantle are scheduled to move to their new facility at Cockburn. Perth are expected to be accommodated as part of any redevelopment of the ground.

West Coast’s requirements will almost certainly include two training ovals - with the second on the eastern side.

The Demons would also be likely to acquire new premises as part of the redevelopment, which would also be expected to contain community facilities.

Eagles chairman Alan Crans-berg stressed no final decision had been made and that remaining at Subiaco Oval remained an option.

Sites at Curtin University and the University of Western Australia were other possibilities.

He said the club had to be sure that any location would satisfy its needs for the next 50 years.

But Brownes Stadium Park was “a very promising option”.

“There is a lot of work to do for us to finalise things (on a new training facility),” Cransberg said. "Until we get down to the detail it is way too early to predict where we may be.

“We have presented options to the board but we haven’t yet gone back to the board and said this is something other parties are ready to sign off on.”

Victoria Park mayor Trevor Vaughan confirmed his council was negotiating with the Eagles.

“We have been having discussions with West Coast and progressing with them,” Vaughan said.

"But we have not made any decisions, West Coast haven’t made any decisions.

“We have got a terms of agreement which we are discussing. It was our understanding that there were still other groups being considered. But we have had positive talks with West Coast and we are progressing it with them and the Perth Football Club.”

Perth chief executive Marty Atkins said the Demons viewed the possibility of West Coast basing themselves at the oval as a positive provided his club was accommodated as part of the redevelopment.

“We have had talks with the West Coast Eagles and the Town of Victoria Park have been forthright in their view that we would stay here as well,” he said.

“There is plenty of space here provided we are looked after.”

So their aligned to East Perth but train at Perth

You guys need to get out of the dead back water and move to kelmscott ,the joint is a morgue,

Confirmed Today : Eagles to move to Lathlain Park by 2017. Leaving Subiaco Oval all together.

Surely now Perth will be the next aligned club, or EP to move in with them.

more of a case of perth having to find a new home.

either that or they become the host club, EP P and WCE is not going to happen at one ground.

Perth and east perth to merge and be known as Perth Eagles, which will then become the new name of West Coast to better identify them with a major city, eg - Sydney Swans, Melbourne Demons, Adelaide Crows, Brisbane Lions.

Perth Eagles here we come!!

not as far fetched as it sounds

the new ground will be ready for the eagles to move into in 2017.

So we have the Eagles completely and uterly rape, pillage and prostitute the East Perth Football Club and then they move onto their next victim the Perth Football Club.

So when the WCE change to Perth Eagles will they expunge all their historical ties to Fremantle?

wont happen.

Apparently it is important that the Demons continue at Lathlain, which has been their home since 1959. Going by that sentence I can’t see Perth merging. But then, big business will do whatever it wants and won’t give a tinkers toss what toes get trodden on. An article on the page http://www.westcoasteagles.com.au/news/2013-09-06/eagles-poised-for-new-home

Well the know it alls are out in force aren’t they.

There are some idiots in this world and they have all come on here.

The cornerstone to the whole plan is for the Demons to have redeveloped premises and all the hard work put in by Vince and his team has paid off handsomely. The Town of Victoria Park have been very eager/co-operative to ensure the future of the DEES was secure.

Ensures a lease of life for the area and local businesses.

Ground will be re-aligned apparently we will get new premises towards the northern end. I guess the reality is for EP to move in with Eagles, which is not as stupid as it sounds as my understanding is that there are to be two new grounds laid.

EP’s premises at Medibank are ordinary.

?? future of the centre of excellence, Subi could do worse than look at the Claremont re-development. Wouldn’t be as stupid as it sounds.

AS long as the ferals stay out of our members area I don’t care.

Huge investment by the Eagles.

Great news for PFC, future secure at Lathlain.

I too am a bit puzzled how this has been given such negative feedback! Lathlain redevelopment. Keep your traditional home. No alignment. Good media coverage for the club and sponsors.

Agree Lucifer.. Good for Perth and a lot of money comming in.
Perth and WP have huge developments happening and great for both clubs.
Claremont are doing same with a development and must be good for them.

WAFL clubs must move on and that is what is happening.
Nothing to do with the ALIGNMENT :frowning: exactly the opposite as these 3 clubs are in the G7. So what is the problem? As WAFL G7 Clubs we are being progressive and that is what we have to do.
Our committee’s are being transparent and doing what they are meant to be doing and that is looking after the financial affairs of the Club and doing what is best for the Clubs. The rest are being left behind..

Still worried about he parking though :frowning: Sure that will be in the plan somewhere?

I am very happy with this. Would love to see some plans but one step at a time I suppose. Why will the ground change directions. I will admit that I will be sad to see the view from the grandstand when overlooking the scoreboard go but will be looking forward to the new facilities and infrastructure being built in the Lathlain Area.

Times are changing and you need to be moving forward or you’ll get left behind. Don’t get me wrong it’s important to have one eye on the past but you also have to have one on the future.

Haven’t seen any plans just my understanding of what may happen having spoken to people around the Club.

I believe our new premises are to be around towards the shed at the western end.

Maybe the re-alignment is to cater for the 2 ovals.

Not clear on the press, seems to be saying the Eagles to put in 2 grounds not sure whether that means there ends up being 3 or just the 2 new ones.

A great fillip for the Club and a project that Vince and his working party has worked long and hard for.

They should be commended for their efforts.

Well done guys and now for the on-field stuff.

I spose the carpark and tennis courts will go but Carlisle bowling club may be used for parking!

But Cardy what will the rest of you think when, logically, the alignment shifts from EP to the dark pink legs.

Not been said but logic would suggest that the development and alignment expiring are very close together.
