New recruit - Jesse Glass-McCasker

Appears Dodd has added an experienced ruckman/kpp to the list. Ex Swan Districts Carlton listed player 198cm, 45 WAFL league games. Age 28.

On our list on the WAFL site I guess pending a clearance. Well done Doddy.

Gee his numbers don’t look great (Hitouts or Disposals) But if it frees up Schlensog to go forward or back it could be worth it. Anyone know if he has been playing this year?

Fair enough and I agree - backs particularly Key position backs don’t need to get a lot of it. I guess he will come through the Ressies this week. A ressies side that has lost too many players this year.

Good pick up! Played with Wembley on the weekend but not sure how many games this season or current fitness levels.

At Swans he was a scapegoat, but often injured, and was never really settled in a position or role hence his inconsistent stats. Unbelievably he was 2nd preferenced to Blakely in the ruck where our midfield was coached to support an ailing ruck and then couldn’t fit into the fwd structure that’s been dominated and built around a 1 trick pony for the past 2 years. He did play some footy down back also where his size and strength held him in good stead against players like Kietel and Marsh.

He walked out on Swans in the pre season when after Edwards was snapped up the coaching group was training up Howard and others forward of the ball and I guess he wasn’t up for getting different treatment once again.

He’s one of those players that if you show investment in and cuddle, so to speak, instead of using as an example, imo opinion will thrive.

Good luck to him and the Dee’s.

Swans have lost one here. The guy obviously wanted to play league football, but he was treated poorly. Yes, possessions a bit light-on, but he has a presence.

Yep all those plans of turning Howard and others into forwards worked a treat didnt they Danger :poop:
Hopefully JGM gets treated better at the Demons and does well

Howard can’t even get a gig as runner now. Moved out maybe just for the occasion but it’s no surprise.

Accidentally deleted this earlier post.

You’re a bit hard to please mate. Can kick goals, played a lot down back and at 198cm and 95kg more than capable of playing his role in the ruck when required.

Our club doesn’t grow ruckman or kpp on trees like a few other clubs. We have to get them from somewhere and with Edwards out, Schlensog lame late in the game on Saturday and Jaques just one game back from a long injury layoff he is a timely addition in my opinion.

Yep, I agree R&B, he could be a good pick up as insurance and going forward another tall.
We are starting to see that the best recruit is actually off-field.
I heard a rumour that there may be a late recruit when it came to light that Randall had left.

I didn’t see him there tonight so doubt he’ll be playing on Saturday. Going to be an interesting night at the selection table.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he plays.

Randall off our list on the WAFL site.

Did he do a pre-season at SD? If so, he may be able to play reasonably soon, but if not, he would be a mile away from WAFL fitness. Still, gives us another option going forward. He can relieve Schlensog in the ruck, or play key back in place of JPC. That may allow Luers to play CHF and provide another tall target, as well as allowing Schlensog to go forward if needed.

Strangely, Paton and Davis have not been on the injury list, which still has only Poole, Edwards and Johnson as injured league players. I guess we have to trust the S & C staff, but we wouldn’t want to take any chances with those guys - Paton especially has been excellent.

Davis and Paton are both outs - would be nice to know how long. Simpson is named on an extended bench. Byrne not named at all. JPC named as starting ruck surely can’t be right. Nor can Watson at CHF. I assume JPC will be FB and Luers CHF, with the occasional run in the ruck. From the extended bench I would go with Simpson, Kemp, Fleiner and TBH. I don’t know what TBH, Hill or Williams have done to put their names up for selection, but there they are. I’d like to see a tag on Murdoch. If we can limit him and Leggett and stop Marsh from having his usual day out, we might have a chance. On our side, Clarke has to get back on the scoreboard with 4 plus.

Another big name is under a cloud. I won’t say. Surprised Byrner isn’t ready. Paton will miss weeks maybe Davis as well. I reckon Johnno might play ressies in a couple of weeks.

Injury cloud? Surely not another walk out?

Injury cloud Ted. This minimum 20 characters is a pain in the arse.

Given the situation he put us in Dodd has done well to pick up a player with similar experience before the June 30 deadline. I think JGM will cost 7 points same as Randall.

We would have been forced to take him off the list as we had pretty much maxed out. That’s why we had to let James Ewing play for WC on a permit.

Not like for like player wise could prove to be very valuable.
