Murray Newman to East Perth

SD have a player development person who is responsible for every kid at Swans from 14 upwards, he is not Dayle garlett’s personal development officer, its not the AFL..

Garlett is the same as every other senior player at Swans - he knows what time the league squad trains, i’m not sure its the coach or footy managers responsibility to ring up every player to ask whether they are coming to training or not..

AFL players dont train with WAFL clubs, they turn up on Saturday to play - are you aware of that ?

Mark, it is my understanding that players who are going to play for wafl team training with that team on a Thursday or a the last regular session before a game, this was what usually happened at EP last year, just my understanding …

Well if you are so sure the left over AFL boys simply turn up on match day to play in the WAFL, then why the big whinge at WCE for trying to re-allocate Newman to EP?..2 hrs input from SD on a Saturday aint gonna improve the kids attitude is it then?..might as well get a bit of continuity training and then playing with those left over WCE boys at EP then…

besides Newman, who else plays regularly for SD from WCE last year?.. Embley has played how many games for SD over the last 5 years? So why the big whinge?

Tell me what SD can offer Newman that EP can’t?..especially since you are 100% certain the AFL boys only turn up on a Sat then…Grump you are right mate, MO has lost the plot a bit with that bit of info.

Where did I say the SD development guy was Garletts personal valet?..just interested that you SD boys reckon SD could do a better job looking after Newman than WCE could…yet Garlett appears to have some also well documented off field issues and it’s not in SD best interest to put an arm around his shoulder and say ‘what can we do to help you son?’…

So freeze what did the WAFLonline stats page tell you about Garlett’s game on Saturday??

I know that the SF boys not picked in the AFL have training with SF for the last session of the week. That’s happened since the 90’s. I imagine all wafl clubs are the same.

Just to clarify that afl players allocated to the Royals in the past have attended training on a Friday night but not actually trained. They come, watch and sit in on the team meeting. Might change with the them training on Thursday’s now but then again it might not.

So freeze what did the WAFLonline stats page tell you about Garlett’s game on Saturday??

mmmmm..that Garlett went missing in action again sadly BH…looks like that SDFC nuturing program for Garlett, which SDFC have earmarked for Newman is working a treat BH :cheer: no wonder why WCE wanted the kid to go else where

usually BH you are quick off the mark with a pretty decent come back, sadly I think you are losing your touch, me thinks when you are pulling out that old chestnut BH, your argument / lack of it, is well and truly stuffed  …but to humour you, sadly the Waflonline stats was doing what it usually does best…SD had only one player playing last week apparently, one less than EF…pretty hard to write a match report off that.. eh?

sooooooo BH, tell me how Newman will benefit from SD nuturing input, IF MO truuuuuuly believes the AFL boys only turn up for a few hours each Sat?..nothing more nothing less…and SD have how many WCE boys at their club playing WAFL each weekend?..I reckon Newman would even feel more at home playing at Cl or EF in fact…since both of these clubs have a plethora of idle WCE boys twiddling their thumbs most weekend!! living the WAFL life rent free :cheer:

Maybe Swans should look at hiring EF’s old welfare officer when Dwayne Simpson, Calib Mourish were down at Antique Shark Park ..that all went swimmingly apparently!!

Stats page down yet again hey? so thats why there’s no in depth match reports this week from the “Canterbury Spy”!!

Just FYI freeze Garlett had about 25 possessions & kicked 3 or 4 goals from the midfield, not a bad effort from someone who is struggling according to yourself but what would I know I mean I was only watching the game live!!

Sorry my match report is nowhere near as in depth & accurate as your usual offerings freeze but it is so much harder to watch the game & scribe than just look at a stats page & summarise a complete match report just from that!!

still haven’t answered my question BH…you keep rolling out that old waflonline chestnut fella…bit of a security blanket there BH, when its obvious you aint got an answer…

as for Mourish and simpson, got no probs saying EF played a part in fudging up their careers most likely…terrible travesty, completely gutting for all concerned, two potential champions of the footy world cruelly culled by the EFFC…not the first time and probably not the last time the EFFC will get it wrong…but hey like MO says…how can one person know what 60 players on a list are up to 24/7?..he aint their mamma holding their personal security blanket is he BH?..sorry got no stats to back up that claim too!!

lovely to hear Garlett picked up 25 possies and kicked 3-4 goals over the weekend…I’m completely stoked for the fella…he’s come a long way in such a short time…thank god SDFC rehab program is working  …though considering your poverty stricken junior zones, I guess your club should be well versed by now, what works and what doesn’t!! :cheer:

when you get a moment, just answer the question theres a good lad and any stats you can provide me with your answer, I’ll incorporate them into my next report!!..oh yeah out of interest, was Garlett getting you all in a tizz in the league game or the reserves game? :silly:

I am assuming this question you are banging on about getting an answer from me freeze is in relation to Murray Newman being better served at the Eagles reserves side or Swans my answer is have a look at how well Michael Walters career was turned around after a stint back at the home of football & therein lies my answer!! B)

How true that is BH. I’m pretty sure that this has been pointed out to him before now. Freeze will now state that Walters’ situation was Swans fault in the first place, or something similarly insightful.

thing is boys, Walters had the choice of spending the rest of his footy career playing at SDFC or playing for the FFC…what more motivation did the fella need?..I guess Walters had the insight hachii to choose the lesser of those two evils…and there in lies my answer BH

A bit like those boys you had Simpson & Mourish having the choice between FFC & the EFFC & both choosing the much more impressive Mullewa FC hey freeze!!
Given the choice of those 2 who could blame the fellas!!

Freeze, Freeze, Freeze. Your bias against this club is remarkable. Maybe the fact Walters had just become a father was the motivational rocket he needed, and helped him mature rapidly during last season? I reckon that would be a pretty good reason for trying really hard to resurrect a career at the top level. That, along with the (seemingly very effective), support of the club that he has played 50 league games for, since the age of 17? Also, is playing for Mullewa more attractive than playing AFL or WAFL, in terms of a long term career?

BH, I totally agree with what you are saying…both Simpson and Mourish both thought the easy life in Gero was the better option for them…Simpson to Mullewa FC and Mourish to Towns FC(not Mullewa fella, but I won’t admonish you for getting that slight piece of info wrong, like you joyously did with the Bennell clan!)…that’s life and personal choice and EFFC couldn’t offer a better alternative… EFFC weren’t an attractive enough or good enough option for these boys aspirations…big deal…that’s life…slap on the wrist to the EFFC

hachii…what is more remarkable to me mate, is that I’m simply providing an alternative side to your argument…and you and a few SD fellas here take it so personally :frowning: …I have no probs in saying EFFC could of done a shed load of things better on and off the footy field over the years, you fella’s cant about SD tho…hachii you are living in fairy land if Walters hadn’t thought…mmmmm what’s better, life as a SDFC player or life as a FFC player?..his actions highlighted his personal loyalty and preference to Freo, not SDFC, if he was simply happy with his lot at SDFC he would of continued on his wayward path…but he saw more light at FFC than at SDFC…not that the real SD fan would mind because they would of be looking out for Walters the person…not Walters the SD commodity!

Still don’t understand how you guys can whinge with WCE wanting Newman to EP…you keep saying ‘look what SD did for Walters?’…but Newman isn’t spending the off season and first part of the season solely at SD like Walters did, is he? You guys think a few scratchies at SD pre season and turning up for two hours on match day for SDFC…playing with no other WCE players…IS BETTER for the kid…simply because it worked for Walters!!..two total different situations, one which WCE were at least trying to be proactive about, but all you SD guys here care about is that Newman should be kicking goals for SD and not EPFC…talk about having the kids best interests at heart  If Newman was following the same rehab path as Walters, I’d back you guys to the hilt, but he’s not…and that’s why I don’t agree with you here…but you guys think it’s just me having a dig at your precious SDFC…harden up… it’s just the flip side to your biased argument I guess…but you guys are so insular it’s hilarious!! ;)…and that’s why I keep coming back and posting here…and always will :stuck_out_tongue:

you must be having an awesome time in the uk if this is how you spend your holiday..

sadly the mother n law died champ and I’ve made a rush flight over to the UK to support my grieving wife…thus I’m sitting on a train for two hours and any distraction in my sombre mood at present is better than what’s coming ahead in the next few days…but cheers for the SD fan nuturing holistic concerns Marky Mark.

in that case glad the Swans forum could cheer you up in what must be a sad time for you and your wife..
we’ll be sure to keep the amusement up..
hopefully WAFL online is up and running this weekend as well..

always two side to every story MO, here’s you thinking I’m wasting my holiday here in a UK, on the SD thread…and here’s me thinking how can I cheer my mood up in this time of sadness…

yeah sadly no match report for you and BH this weekend…even if WAFL online is up and running…but hey I have no doubts, there will be plenty more weeks for me to contrive a few reports up for you two, before the year is out…
