I think Johnston has just moved back in the pecking order.
Chaplin was a good pick up.
He is very versatile and at times proved handy as the backup ruckman.
I liked Johnstons game at the end of this season, it is the first time he has looked like a player.
But I have never liked his body language.
Particularly when his opponent beats him to the ball.

Johnstonā€™s disposal both hand and foot suss. Marking is excellent though and he seems to have a good ticker.

Heā€™s got Cā€¦t in him need someone to fly the flag sometimes and he does that.

This aspect is really neccessary come finals. You need to intimidate at this level. Nothing has changed in that respect. Yes you need run and versatility and foot skills but you need to intimidate too.

Agree we have a decent squad on paper across all lines. The critical part will be having a good run with injury, Last season, the following players missed around 5 games or more - a quarter of the season: Hill, R Clarke, A Clarke, Simpson, Hine-Baston, Johnston, Edwards, Paton, Jacques, Derksen, McLean. Add to that injuries to depth players like Della, Roberts and Thorne, and walk outs from J Clarke, Stubbs, Coniglio and Randall, and we were reaching too far into our list at times - guys like John and Williams, for example, shouldnā€™t be anywhere near a league game. We need to play no more than 30 players in the league team across the season.

Going to be a Sundowner tomorrow evening from 5.30pm onwards on the outer oval. Looks like theyā€™re going to park the Sullivan Logistics truck out there selling drinks hopefully will have the barbie set up out there for a sausage sizzle. Will be a good opportunity to get a look at the new lads.

Sorry Iā€™m going to miss it.
Next trip to Perth next week, will stay long enough for the AGM.
Hope we get an update from the Football Dept there as well.
