Cherry on top justice Lee found Lehrmann, on the balance of probabilities had raped Brittany Higgins where in a civil court the standards of proof are significantly less. In other words he brought on his own civil case to be tried for rape. You would have thought his legal team would have explained the risk.

Now for the defamation trial between Linda Reynolds and Higgins and her bf playing out right here in Perth. She’s got 3 million to lose young Brittany. I wonder if todays findings will have an affect on this new trial, given Higgins has now been found in a civil court to have been raped and the judge described her as a credible witness.
The correct decision was made by the judge. It has me perplexed how Lehrmann could deny what happened in the office of the soon to be retiring Senator. There would have been no one else in the building except for cleaners and security staff.
If the soon to be retiring Senator has any sense, she should drop her lawsuit now it has been established Miss Higgins was raped. The lawsuit is already a bad look for the Senator, but will only get worse if she continues with it after the verdict given by the judge.

This whole shit show is a lawyers dream. Bunch of assholes and entitled loose units ALL out of Canberra slagging off at each other. It never made sense to me how Brittany was found naked or half naked on a sofa in Minister Reynolds office. She is not undressing herself.
Now given the fact Lehrmann has been found guilty of raping Brittany Higgins in a civil court it is staggering that Reynolds is even more determined to carry on with suing her for defamation. No one is doing more to ruin her reputation than herself. An apology, which I don’t think is warranted, is not enough. She wants cash $$$$$$.

Lehmann has now been ordered to pay one of the TV networks 2 million $ over the defamation case. And apparenty the Reynolds - Higgins defamation trial is still yet to begin after talks between the two broke down.
