Jarryd Morton

His stats for last season average 18 disposals 5 marks per game as per WAFL online.
Seems to be a useful contribution in a top side. Turnovers is something that he can work on. Look how much improved Dene White is nowadays.

IMO, he is a very useful get for the club. I agree that he is a good size (6’2") for a halfback/wingman and looks like he runs very well. Pleased to hear that he may have a bit of mongrel in him.

Morton was dropped to the reserves for the last game of the season and played reserves for the finals. Should have been dropped earlier i thought, he was a bit of a turnover king for us. Actually has a bit of mongrel in him though and is a great size for a utility. Actually played a few games at chf for the Hawks - Hawthorn must have been struggling a bit.
Hope he’s playing league by the 24th of august.

Looks like Jarryd got the mongrel whilst Cale got the skills in the family T.O.O!! B)

So Jarryd Morton is a bit of an “I Man” not a team man. Thought we were getting rid of this kind of culture. Funny really. Good luck hope it all works out.

My understanding is that after playing 20 games for Claremont last year he was dropped for the Grand Final and was not a happy chappy.
As a result he approached his Hawthorn mate, Chance Bateman, about coming over to Perth but our points cap was full and he has been playing in the country this season.
Now, having dropped Daniel Murray off our list, we have been able to fit Jarryd into our points cap and he seems happy to now be a Demon.
Can anyone else add anything?

Just a question, Why did Hawthorn delist him, I think it has something to do with the random testing of some sort, not sure but … . the other thing I think was an issue is that I think he suffers from the Heath Blacks a bit! A shame but I hope he gets it together and plays well.

I already posted prior info from Sporting Pulse - to Williams

I hope Jarryd fits in well down at the Dee’s, didn’t see any mongrel in him at all, is a bit of a bully IMO call his bluff and like all bullies their tale is quickly between their legs. But hopefully this attitude has changed for his sake, the WAFL is too small a comp. for that crap.

Which crap is that Ol Boy?

The crap I am referring too is picking on your own younger blokes coming through on the training track instead of encouraging them, even if they might have shown you up without realising it. As I said he should be good for the Demon’s, hope his attitude is in the right place, which it should be new club and all…

Hmm.. interesting, the mongrel i was referring to was more that get in alot cheap boring scraps kind of mongrel rather than the good mongrel a la Andrew Browne kind of mongrel.. mongrel for the ball.
We don’t miss him at all and probably wasted dough on him last year and like i said before i hope he’s playing league when we come to lathlain in august.
