Fkn embarrassing. Don’t know why they bother with this shit. Two different salary caps thus two different levels. To add to the embarrassment they have a lot of their best players out. Hope none of our blokes get injured
hasn’t been one ounce of game plan
the SA commentator said WA is a rabble and it’s impossible to dispute
beyond disgusting
coach of the millennia even has the best ruckman in the state at full back
genius

Sokol went off the ground, I think in the second quarter? Not sure if he played in the second half?

What a joke and complete embarassment for WA football. Hopefully this is the last of these interstate fixtures
That would have been embarrassing if it was played in Adelaide.
Just ugly.
Where to now?
Had to log on to view the final score because of no media interest. Thought I was seeing things when looking at the final score. Been a bad day!

It was embarrassing being played here in Perth. The timing of the match tells you everything you need to know of the motivation for the staging of it. In that respect it was a total success. If anyone thinks otherwise it matters not as the commission are totally unaccountable.
Is anyone generally shocked by this result?
We are completely behind the SAFL in every aspect when it comes to the respective Leagues.
Their salary cap is nearly double ours with the WAFC refusing to increase it significantly to keep pace with the SAFL & VFL since the covid era, it will only get worse too as many Vics are choosing the SAFL over the WAFL.
The wafc have probably been spooked due to a few WAFL clubs getting in to financial ruin and have had to bail them out?
Watching a bit of the SAFL on the box over the last few years it is a far better comp, skill wise, talent wise etc.
Also why did we continue with the same coach who has overseen 4 state losses now?
Not sure he has a great handle on what is needed to win big games of footy without 17 full time afl listed players coaching themselves!
Yes, the SANFL do have a bigger salary cap compared to the WAFL, BUT, they have pay offs compared to the WAFL, such as player insurance and medical costs. I would say they are still financially in front compared to the WAFL clubs but more importantly it’s the license payments that the states get. The SANFL clubs get a direct payment, but the WAFL payment goes to the commission where they distribute the doe. It’s all to do with Indian Pacific.
From the bits I saw on my phone,SA looked like they were playing a different game. Rebound from defence was effortless.
Did we get tactics wrong? Picked the wrong team? Or are the crow eaters just producing better players than us? If so, why?
We only just lost a few years ago. We lack forwards. We can’t pass the ball. We can’t run. No big key backs. Murdock the only one who looked comfortable.
And I can’t be the only one that thinks the best team not selected?
All irrelevant now I guess!
The very l o n g list of questions that need answering is not getting shorter!
Heard on the telegraph wire that McLennan has won the Fos Williams Medal for being best on ground for the South Australian team.
this is the type of result that gets roughly handed to you when you select an absolute no hoper as the coach
the scouting mission the fool did was actually to a local SA McDonald’s carpark given the bizarre player selections and the sheer amount of talent just ignored
and then there were the positional stuff that was pretty laughable just as laughable as his game plan , of which cunningly he didn’t have
you see us mere mortal plodders would not have thought to just go in without any semblance of order
master coach
absolute fecken idiot who you wouldn’t want anywhere near juniors
Time to can this rubbish once and for all. VFL lost interest long ago and obviously no currently employed coach has been interested for a long time. Used to go to the reigning premiership coach and I can’t remember the last one to coach a state team.
I think before the unemployed Shepherd it was the unemployed Michael Broadbridge.
This result shows how far behind the WAFL is to the other AFL states. No young talent coming through and too few WA players making at the AFL Drafts.
Annual reality check as to what standard the WAFL really is.
SFA talent being produced and the standard is putrid.
Now we can all go back to our foxholes, stick our heads in the sand and pretend its 1979 again.
The big wakeup call will come when we don’t get a lot of kids drafted this year. don’t believe the crap coming out of the mouth of the talent manager - the standard in WA isn’t keeping pace with other parts of the country. Hell, Daniel Curtin was our best hope last year and he can’t get a game for the crows and they won’t make finals

Ffs
there will be more mid season draftees than end of season this year
the old cupboard has never been so bare
