I’m not sure of who that is but if it is a Victorian
then I would offer that it is a closet hanger on
that weaseled itself into it’s own self importance
by friends of friends who say it’s an expert on something
and there is a legion of absolute fuckwits masquerading as reporters over there
I saw that VFL website late last year mate
what a gaudy , bizarre totally fucked out sideshow alley compilation that thing is
funnily enough I’m sort of happy the WAFL site has been ignored
I couldn’t cope with seeing that shitshow here
And like Swiss clockwork
The three limp diseased ordinary amigos
Demonstrate their total biased rubbish
It’s why the west loses customers every year
The sport section died years ago with their appointments
Stevie Marsh had real, strong passion for the call. I remember him on a footy panel one time and he was the one letting everyone know that there was only one true derby…..the EF SF derby.

Of course it is the only real Derby.
Steve Marsh was a regular special comments man next to Fred Woods on Channel &’s World Of football
Mick Cronin was another Marty McDonnell , John Vukman , Gary Carvolth
Frank Sparrow was the usual chair
Here’s one blast from the past
From the Channel 7 Perth Vault a classic clip from World of Football, some household names from the era in their element Marsh, Woods, Sparrow, McDonell and Cronin.

Keithy Slater was another excellent contributor along with Percy Johnson
“He’s a great player this fellow(1 G.Ablett)!That’s his 6th!”
Bob,1984 State of Origin Call,TVW Channel 7.
A subtle little dig,methinks.
Bob Shields was virtually co compare with Dennis Cometti at the ABC on Saturday nights after the football. An excellent voice I think he could have had a great career in the media if he wanted to go down that path. Perused a career in real estate instead, committed a big no no early on but I believe carved out a pretty successful career as a property developer. Part owner of The Lucky Shag at Barrack Square with Colin Lofts and others.
Great clips Southy. From the days when interesting convo mixed with a bit of lighthearted stuff was the go.
At the time football , Australian rules football , was a weekly ritualistic event
Frank Sparrow and George Grljusich were our choir masters
Five radio stations competed for the right to broadcast a game
6IX and 6PM and Grilla’s 6WF was the go to excitement caper
Chuck in Wattsie for special comments and it was pure football
We lost a part of our very selves with those dickhead VFL flogs taking it all over

@Southerner The WAFL sold the soul of WA footy in the mid to late 80s.
You mean Club and Football Commission Suits.
The Memberships may not have if given a say.
No, I mean the WAfL heads. Walker etc.
