Another rubbish final…one out how many in this current AFL series…seriously Jetta and Cripps are the two softest players running around at present…WCE look so slow…even Stevie J looks like he is 20 again…hopefully Richmond take GWS apart next week with the Dusty show.
West Coast need to change their selection process, for to many years they have played an overly tall side with little to no forward pressure. Play the 2 big forwards (Kennedy & Darling) and load up the slick pacy small to medium forward around them. Even down back tonight we’re far to tall and couldn’t stop the run.
This has been an issue for the past 7 or 8 years not just under Simpson.
Need to make the most of the trade period and draft to fill up on players who can cover the ground and good around goals
Get Liam Ryan!!!
Guess we can throw the theory that the top 4 sides are disadvantaged by the final round bye out the window.
I suppose if Schofield takes the assistant role at the Eagles like rumoured then Ryan is a huge chance.
Pretty sure we can expect a completely different best 22 next year with Nic coming back and a Fit Rioli plus some smart trading and drafting and of course some delisting that need to take place.
Won a final and then finished with a really disappointing loss at least there’s still something there to work with but a few changes in personnel is needed.
Not even close, like a bunch of old farts.
I didn’t (couldn’t) watch the game after a bit into the 2nd quarter - a combination of sensing the inevitable, and bloody Basil’s commentary. You could detect from Richardson’s responses to Basil that he shares my disdain and outright contempt for Zempilas.
However, I have just looked at a clip on 7 online, and would like to express my congratulations and respect for the GWS guys lining up and clapping off 3 of the best players of this century in their last games.
Classy.
Yep and very similar to how Sydney looked last night, both clubs would be very disappointed in there losses.
Bugger me!
After last week, many folk just about had Sydney’s name on the Premiership Cup.I didn’t give Geelong a ghost of a chance.Who knew that was going to eventuate?Still not convinced about their Flag chances, but their game against the Crows is already mouthwatering from 1 angle.
Josh Jenkins’ Big Mouth.Hope your carry on doesn’t bite you on the Arse,Josh!
It was a Monty after last week,Stevie J was coming back and didn’t he just with 6 big ones?!
Helped GWS,having 2 days up on the Eagles. But maybe that wasn’t a major cause of their grief.
Felt for the players, but I won’t miss the Media Hype and Bullshit one little bit, with their Elimination.
Thank fuck it’s over grassy at lest now we won’t have chanel Eagle and 9 leading their nightly news with bloody eagles finals fever
I know one poster here would be devastated that the Swans lost last night.
Just hoping along with him that Souths can get the job done tomorrow.
Bad luck Bazza, your Swans were brave all season.
Give 'em time Bazza.
There’ll be some tearjerkers in the next few days,I’m sure. Now,where’s that Box of tissues I bought Basil and Co?
No problem with Basils commentary at all. Sour Grapes maybe.
Agreed. Now they can get back to their “cat stuck in a tree” lead stories.
Only if there are No Tornadoesor or Sharks around town,Jack.
So Time For a Flag,it was YOU who lobbied for a return to Basil’s Footy Show?!
Go easy on Time For, grassy - he is a member of a very select (though not selective) club. In fact, he may be the only member of the Basil Club.
+1
There would be at least 2 members JS as Basil himself would be the President and no.1 ticket holder…he is a terrible football commentator and should stick to reading the sports news as that is more his go tho not his ego!

As I was channel surfing I happened to hear Basil comment on the fact that S Coniglio had played in a winning WAFL GF at 16 years of age.
I turned the flog off when Scully kicked a nice running goal late in the 1st qtr. Basil’s comment was along the lines of what a good kick it was, because he kept it low.
Cue the replay - ball goes through at near top of the goal posts.
