EF v WP

sunday game…not too keen on sunday’s but obviously the club wants to avoid clashing with the dockers on tv saturday

hoping this will be another rip snorter as it was last time we met with over 40 goals scored…not sure if that many will be scored again
looking fwd to the game and a reverse result

see you in the shark pit cardy! my buy ok

Big chance to knock them off with WP having a few out this week it seems.

Will be looking forward to team selections this week.

I will be there.. This time I will bring tissues cause a lot of EF supporters crying after the last one.. Hey Dick wont be there to kick 8 goals either.. Most probably end up the same as the SF game.. We have a few out but non that cant be replaced.
Hutchy will be in and Manning back
Slick out for 2 weeks. Razor out for 4 weeks, Sala out indefinately.
Keunen wont have a migraine this time as we are playiing you not CLA.

Saylor out but he was dropped back to Ressies last week anyway.

Should be a good game and could go anyway… Could go down to the wire.

Our ressies have won last 3 including the top 2 and another in the top 4 so some depth there.. Sad news key players could come up and it will leave them a bit short so maybe will let your guys have that one but one never knows

As you say teams on Thursday night but I Have come to learn the PAPER side doesnt mean a thing.

Being a Sunday game the teams will have extended benches and final teams wont be known until game day I’d say.

Interesting teams with extended Benches..

And the BIG ONE

interesting the selected sides name curley as an out yet he played ressies last week???
sutcliffe could well come in as well

I think bartholomew & slick are huge outs for wp
will wp play some players that are under injury clouds?

fine weather forecast…should be a ripper

Injury clouds? DONT think so mate..Fowler will be in the Forward line for sure and pretty hot at the moment. Manning/Kerr back Rasmussen, Shannon playing well
Then you have to get over Browne,Strijk,Jones,Van Berlo,Guadagnin(hot) Rodda, Crisp, Keunen back Hutchings in Potente and Mursic starting to show some form..
Nah a walk in Shark park for us. People go on about Sala who is poorly missed but he didnt play in the last one against you either. Razor will big possession player will be missed but the Gap will be filled.

Without Dick who kicked 8 in your last you are giving us a 8 Goal start.

Ok our ressies might have a problem with some outs but thats Footy

ps We are a better side than SF as well..

Brad Dick maybe missing but Young, Simpson & Duffy didn’t play last time..all very dangerous forwards.

A Tsalikis isn’t playing for WP and he kicked 5.

Should be a great game either way.

The last time these teams met in round 8

Yes interesting.. Looking at the scores it was certainly a goal feast for both teams. Most of the players who scored are playing again this week v EF have a feeling EF have a couple missing. Dont think we will see a repeat of this game. Both coaches will certainly make changes to their match plan.
The WP defence is one of the best in the comp.

Let the game begin. The more I look at it the game should be a beauty and picking a winner is bloody hard B)

A result from 1981 - will we beat this record  Interesting to look at the players
Just a bit of trivia Strono and Rock dont get to worried
.. WP V EF Biggest winning margin from 1981. Have a look at the attendance. The good old days at Leederville as well

Ric just a question I notice there are two lots of qtr by qtr scores the top one being the actual score what is the story with the other qtr by qtr on the bottom half of the table which is different?

Ric just a question I notice there are two lots of qtr by qtr scores the top one being the actual score what is the story with the other qtr by qtr on the bottom half of the table which is different?

The top qtr by qtr are the actual qtr by qtr scores, the bottom set of scores are the teams score for that particular qtr. so in the second qtr of the 1981 game WP kicked 9.4 for the qtr to EF 3.1 and they won the qtr by 39 points.

Hoe that makes sense

Yep does now thanks mate  So in the 2nd qtr WP kicked 9.4 and EF kicked 3.1 etc
9 gls in 3rd and 4th as well had the kicking boots on that day

WP Adamson, Bradmore 8.2, Alderton 6.2, Stasinowsky 5.2, Bewick 4.2, Palm 2.0, Fong 1.2, Dayman 1.1, Duckworth, Wilson 1.0, Hillier 0.2
EF Couper 3.1, Browning 2.2, Lester-Smith 1.1, Carter, Judge, Sewell 1.0, Sims 0.2, Kerr 0.1

Acres can certainly play & looking at his stats early in that game he should be rushed into the WA 18’s team for the games against SA & Vic Country!

WP Colts are 6 points up in the third update on the link above
Agree BH and I did read Acres will be bought in to the State side especially after his performance today..

might as well rush Jacob Green into the side as well mate…Green is more than matching Acres and in the end picked up a few more possessions than Acres…reckon the state side could squeeze in another EF boy eh BH?

The league boys were stuck in 2nd gear today :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

Mighty Munchers

Great game and a couple of missed goals in last hurt EF.. I wouldnt lose hope as a couple have. Very competative and a win wasnt that far off. Now all you have to do is beat EP next week and back on track.. I certainly will be tipping you

I think you understate the problem Cardy. Several Sharks are not up to league standard and a couple of AFL list players in Simpson and Duffy were shocking today. Duffy has hit the wall and is a shadow of the player he was last year. Training with the purple scum does that to you I guess. The lack of forward options for the Sharks is stunning but it’s been like that for ten years so why should I think it should change. And I’m sorry but McDougall tries but he just isn’t up to it.

Sorry, I’ve not been online a great deal this year but has somebody commented about Brock O’Brien pulling the pin and playing for Pinjarra or whatever? Leaves us with these AFL hacks like the two mentioned and Dick who simply give nothing defensively in the forward half. And got to say that if Howson doesn’t get a game next week then the selection committee need to be bent over and have a goal post inserted where the sun don’t shine. At least he can take a contested mark which would be a nice innovation into the Sharks forward line.

Finally, Tom Howlett is a brilliant mark - can he play forward and back at the same time? Without him the Sharks would have been seriously flogged today and several other times this year.

If we get Pavlich, Sandiland, Sutcliffe, Brennan, Sheppard and Brown next week we might get close to the Eagles bitch in waiting but I’m not that hopeful.
