Would have pencilled this one in before last week but the Bulldogs were impressive over the pre season cup winners and they look like they’ve got all their big names in and firing. No gimme this one, this win will have to be earned. Good to see Crozier picked, he will give us some X factor.
I would never “pencil in” a win against the doggies at Etihad. We have trouble beating them there, but I am confident we will win this on.e
This is,as I have said before a totally different outfit to a few years ago. This is a far more mentally tough team. They believe every week.
Though not pretty by some standards, the four points will be taken.
we played well I thought until the goal umpire went down then we seemed to lose our way .Or maybe I am taking too much away from the way the doggies performed after that.
four points in Melbourne regardless of who or how is always good to take.
Fyfe was very good. Was good to see him in the form we hope he can replicate every week.
It was mostly a team effort I thought.special mention to Crozier and Sutcliffe they both played their part in the win.It is good to see that we now seem to have the depth from kids like these two.Had it not been them then I think that the spots could have been taken by Mellington,Neale or Chrichton, and all could have done the job as well.
We are looking good at this stage but a long way to go yet.
Agreed - was a good win.
Anchorman - pretty sure the reason we stopped somewhat after goal umpire was injured was purely due to our game plan. The way I see it is that we will never (very rarely) belt teams by 10+ goals, as the game plan is based on defense. The same occured when Ross coached St Kilda.
Other teams like Essendon, etc, once they get to 6-7 goals up they just ram it home.
The good news for us, is that I believe our game plan is better equipped to win finals matches, and it is also better equipped to win ‘close’ matches.
You could very well be right Boomer.
A huge game this Friday night.Should be a full house.
Two in form sides.
The West says that Crowley goes to Watson… I wouldnt bother tagging Watson, as I still think he will win his 20+ possessions anyway!
I would tag Stanton out of it, as he struggles with a tag.
We must find a match up for Crameri, as he is a key. More than likely McPharlin to Hurley and Dawson to Patty Ryder. I would give the gig to Lee Spurr, as he is a goer and gives it a crack. If not I would then do the following:
McPharlin to Crameri
Dawson to Hurley
M Johnson to Ryder
Going to be won through the midfield I say. Expect Hocking to tag Mundy or Barlow.
