Club movements for 2024

Wow H/W to a one side club!!

That is a huge shock…needless to say a long way back.

Surprised Ellenbrook took the offer up to go to C2. But then again they can’t seem to make a GF to go up on their own accord. ??Good luck to them either way. HW going to 1 team may seem a surprise but looking at their 2s last season they were looking like they going down with the amount of “older” blokes playing there. Good for the clubs from E grade to get 2 teams up. Is there an exit from other local teams around them to give them the numbers?

So with 3 teams from C3 going up to C2 what does that mean for C3?
No relegation for Warnbro or Stirling, then Forrestdale, Osborne Park and Winnacot (3rd on the ladder) coming up?

As they advised on Facebook today, Piara Waters will have been approved to have a Colts side this year - and for the first time in their history.

[quote=“I’m Whitey post=233659 userid=940”]Yes can confirm that we were offered and accepted to go up to C2.

Continue our rivalry with Belmont & the Cobras as well as bringing back the “Battle of the Burley” with the Valley. Looking forward to Viper having to buy me drinks…..

I’m just stoked we don’t have 4 cockburn and 4 mandurah teams to travel to like last year … this is awesome!

Some more movement for 2024:

As discussed above, High Wycombe down to E2 with the loss of their reserves. Interesting to note their colts have been placed in Drew Banfield (B grade) colts.
Hopefully they have a good core of youngsters that will push them back into c5 in 2025.
Newly established Rossmoyne have also been placed in Ian Dargie Colts (C1), an interesting choice given they are in c5.

Newly promoted Cockburn lakes and Osborne Park adding 3rds teams is a great addition for them.

Nollamara back from oblivion and fielding a team in e1 is another positive.

Baldivis adding a 2nd colts is great for them. Now up to 9 teams, making them one of the largest in the comp.

Looks like some grade changes too, with the lower E grades (formerly e3 and e4) being split into North and South conferences for 2024.
A grade women’s will now have a reserves competition, with each A grade side fielding at least 2 teams.

Insight into the changes? Good idea?

Good moves particularly for the A-Grade women to have a reserves competition.

Would be interested to see what happens in regards to the North-South split a great idea surprised they haven’t brought that in to C5 given there could be 15-16 teams potentially a C6? Or a C5 North/ C5 South.

Highpants,
Good news on those clubs moving through the grades developing depth for their respective clubs.

In regards to (what I would consider) unusual colt placements being put up the higher grades…we can only assume must be late nominations?

Kenwick copped the same…the last thing you want is to see is new colts trying to establish ‘thrown under the bus’ for no logical reason.

Are the fixtures officially out or just rumours

temporary fixtures are coming out and each club needs to go through and do checks and balances.

Rudy Riddick to Ocean Ridge. Ouch!!

With fixtures getting released it is interesting to see that Stirling have dropped from C3 to C5. With no clubs accepting the offer to go up from C4 to C3 to replace them, it leaves a bye in C3 & C5.

Also interesting to note that the women’s competition has gone from 7 grades down to 6.
Wonder what caused the drop in numbers

Matilda’s maybe a lot of girls gone back or have taken up soccer because of the Matilda’s.

Hadn’t actually considered that Bolter, you might be on the money though.

I think there are still 7 grades, remember that there is now an A Reserves for the women - a lot of these sides were spread amongst the grades before.

That’s exactly right… The 9 A grade women’s teams - whose second teams were playing amongst the C grades, are now playing A Reserves. There are still 7 women’s grades.
