Ill go the same!

There are so many people that agree with the few comments that have been made about Nollamara. But nothing will happen until the league actually makes a strong stance and makes an example of them. Not that difficult really. Make an example by being harsh and other clubs will take note. quite simply the people getting paid to look after community football need to act and take care of the games reputation at this level.

I haven’t played nollamara in a good 2-3 years now but it appears nothing has changed. I’m staggered to hear a bloke can manhandle an umpire and only get 12 weeks. Good old Geoff palmer and co still aren’t willing to make the hard decisions by the looks.

Disgrace of a club. From all accounts they were a fine club back in the day. Neale Fong and co would be devastated to see what they’ve become.

Okay what should the WAAFL do to Nollamara or what can they do. Everyone has an opinion on them but no answers to what should happen to them.

Quite simple fine them, $1000 for every red card. If the club is serious about its future they will quickly sort their
attitude out and rid the bad eggs. No finals until all debt had been paid.
Take a hard stance before someone gets hurt and the association is sued.

I can see why some new parent are not letting their kids play the great game when they see thugs running around and the governing body is not interested. But they will take players fee etc

Nollamara (Very big possibility of this game being called off. Leave the women and kids at home Balla, it’s not worth exposing them to Des Penman)
East Freo
Noranda

My first thought was to find a brave man with a camera, stick it on a tripod in full view of both teams and tape the game. All evidence could then be presented to League. If they still didn’t take it seriously then send it to Today Tonight. They tend to provoke a response.

I’ve since been told you can’t tape games because it breaches some kind of (player) privacy laws!
Can anyone shed any light on this?

I don’t think it would as the WAAFL upload photos of games on their facebook page. And pretty sure they video a few games/GF’s and have the footage widely available…

Surely this can’t be true Specky…that would open up channel 9’s Footy show Almost Footy Legends in to a legal minefield…maybe the 7 second rule of vision applies…would hate to think that our world has arrived at a stage where we can’t film our mates playing at an amateur level in order to protect the privacy of a few thugs…surely we can still film for personal viewing with both clubs permission if necessary…from a alcohol licensing perspective I know you can have CCTV to monitor these areas so maybe the answer is to set up a camera which captures this area and extends to the ground which could be argued is monitoring the area surrounding licensed area to manage any breaches of the house policy of ur club…Interesting to hear if anyone has a definitive answer regarding the filming of games…

side note…Noranda all over Dianella in first half I saw today in a very sharp display although coach Agostino would wanna take back a couple of first qtr set shots on goal which would even have had the great Peter Sumich shaking his head in disbelief if not laughter

Absolutely brilliant lovestowatch you are a genius how come no one else has thought of that. Of course it will probablly mean Nollamara will fold and the problem will just be moved on to a nearby club like Stirling, Osbourne Park or Kingsway.

Maybe the league should send down some senior umpires without notice or at the very least an observer. Just because they are in a lower grade should not diminish the leagues resposibility in effectively dealing with this issue methinks.

Unfortunately it is not just isolated to what happens on the field, some of Nollas spectators are ferral and just makes the situation even worse. One of their female intoxicated spectators physically pushed a boundary umpire after the grand final last year as they were approaching the changerooms. They seemed to think the umpires were racist for their side loosing by six goals…go figure!!!
